If you think only one or two things change

I hear this argument every year, anyone who actually invests significant time into these games realizes there are literally changes going into the hundreds and a majority of them in gameplay. Simply adding a new dribbling mechanic can change the game ten fold as an example, but there many subtle changes people who don't play the game regularly will simply not notice.
This just doesn't apply to FIFA but every sports game I can think of.
They have something similar for PES (Pro Clubs/Team Play) although not anywhere near as structured as in FIFA it's just random matches without being able to form a club and get a record going.
It was an exaggeration to make a point. There just isn't enough improvements. I have a list longer than my arm inregards to the gripes and missing features in FIFA. The most annoying thing is that the general feel of FIFA hasn't changed much from past FIFA games I owned, still the same old static and scripted gameplay and still the same old gripes albeit in difderent clothing, (e.g. stupidly overpowered finesse shots is like 30 yard long shots in fifa04 that would go in unrealistically.)
PES online mode is unfortunately poop, another annoyance of mine, this game has been around for ages yet they still don't bother adding basic online modes, but at least with PES it is usually reasonably priced.
The best deal at the moment I can find is with Tesco entertainment. Seems to be the standard edition though.
£22.01 when usng the 15PREORDER code and maybe another 8% off through quidco bringing it down to £20.
I would highly advise against using Tesco, awful company, I pre-ordered Fifa 12 with them as they were the cheapest, did it arrive? Nope, they sent an email saying they didn't have stock, I ended up cancelling my order and buying from a reliable outlet.
The dev's can only do so much with the time constraint they have. Anyone expecting a 'new game' is unrealistic. That will only come with the next-gen consoles. And you can bet your last dollar the next-gen version will be console exclusive for four or five years and we pc gamers will be left with the current gen version again.
Well I wouldn't expect a new engine to come out every year, that is next to impossible, but substantially improving a game and adding features is what I expect, not a half-baked game that is cleverly marketed as being vastly improved when its not, I think one of the PES guys was spot on in his description about EA.
Fifa 12 gameplay was changed quite a bit from fifa 11. impact engine springs to mind.
The impact engine is useless and a gimmick that doesn't even work properly, the only thing they improved in 12 was the tactical defending, and even then that is let down by other areas of the games, such as odd AI movement.
Sort out your dodgy connection before slating fifa
If I had a dodgy connection then I would get it in every FIFA online game mode (which I don't) and in other games I play online, so go figure...
O and please shhh about devs being lazy. u got no ****ing clue whatsoever how hard software devs work especially in the game industry. if u had a ny clue you wouldnt be saying rubbish like that. Sorry too attack u but im a dev and i know how the software industry works.
Calm down jonny lad

, I come from a computing background too and have done certain software dev and infact have some unfinished personal dev projects so I know it is hard. But quite frankly that is no excuse, EA is megarich so can employ a big team of multi-talented devs who get paid to write bits of code, its not that much of a ask to see some reasonable improvements in a game is it? I don't like being insulted by being shown a well marketed sugar dusted game that really beneath the skin isn't much different to the previous, the improvements they are adding to 13 to me seems like they could have just added to 12 with an update patch. I'm not asking for a whole new engine, that would be unreasonableand and stupid, but what I would like is decent improvements if they are going to ask more than £20 for their game.
I don't like this apathetic mindset we have where we think or accept paying over the odds for a product that is not worth the money, it's the reason why we get ripped off and pay over the odds for everything in this country, from taxes to public transport.
The improvements and additional features they are gonna add in FIFA 13 could well make the game a much better experience than 12, and I hope it is, but I still object to the price they want to charge, hopefully the cd key sites will have them for around £15.
