FIFA 14

Cheers, i just want to watch how other people organise the pitch off the ball, timing/player switches etc.

Just played a game online where the lad just yanked me off the ball, his tackles came in from any angle and was perfectly timed, he got nearly every one he went in for which has kinda put me in a bad mood for the day now :( Really shouldn't play Fifa first thing in the morning!
 
Last night I thought oh I'll play a bit of Fifa haven’t done that in a while. First game guy scores in 8th min he then DC's and I get awarded a loss... mm not a great start. Ok one duff game lets go again, second game complete lag fest yet whenever he got the ball near my area lag magically disappeared I lose 3-1, ok I'm getting slightly annoyed now. Let’s do a cup game instead those are generally better, 3rd game exact same thing as last game whenever he had the ball near my area no lag, whenever I got the ball constant lag stuttering lost 6-0 :(

I then very calmly turned the XO off.

What is wrong with this game seriously !
 
As above, I also played Fifa for the first time in a while.

Lag lag lag lag lag followed by my Suarez randomly flying into the oppositions forward and awarding them a penalty...

He hit it down the middle, my keeper (Hart) just let it go through his hands...

I'm so tempted to sell this game now, if I hadn't put in my own money into players id of sold it a long time ago.
 
I've got about 900k to spend on my new squad after selling up my BPL 41212.

I've got no idea what to do with the funds. I've still got my Bundes side of course, running in a 433-2 but I need another squad asap for fitness.

I might do what has been advised previously and build a hybrid.
 
This game is soo shocking when it rains, played Rex last night in a rainy stadium and it reminds me why I bought the king Fahd stadium. Those 60 yard cross field balls are just ridiculous.

Therefore Torres has the trait your looking for.

He also has finesse shot trait which means he should be really good at taking finesse shots.

Jovetic has "flair"

this means they can easily take on players and beat them, sometimes they do special tricks when you try and take on a player automatically which only they do. It's things like how they control the ball and knock it on and then run after it, etc.

Carroll has the power header trait, this means when he heads the ball 9 times out of 10 it will be a bullet and fly into the net, he can produce a serious amount of power on his headers usually.

Most of the traits are therefore self explanatory.

Bought Torres and Jovetic and I'm finally getting goals Torres scores 4 on his debut still to score with Jovetic but he seems to open up the play great movement and passing around the box and seems to draw the midfield up.

I've decided not to do the lobbed ball but learn to pass my way to goal.

Not using high pressure or ultra attacking either.

Played last night and didn't win but got a couple of draws and a 2-4 loss because of the Pato lobbed ball and my slow as treacle defence.

Also why does Hart never save a ball I think I'll have to buy Cech. :(

just sell hart he's woeful in fifa :( amount of goals I lose from rebounds to weak shots with him... /shakes head.

I've got Torres and Jovetic upfront too (Eto'd as a sub).

I like Torres, his distance and finesse shots are awesome but he can't dribble for toffee and his first touches are terrible (at least for me).
 
Torres and Jovetic were my original strike force and they were both beasts!

As for Hart, I prefer him over Cech :confused:

My style of play kind of mixes things a bit, I would do 1-2s, then 1 touch football in a triangle formation, and lobbed through balls, although recently instead of lobbing my through balls Ive been trying to do ground through balls that goes diagonally inbetween the opponents CBs :D

How about an OCuK FUT tourney sometime, or are people too busy being mad at the game/eachother?
 
Looking for some advice (have been lurking for ages reading on all your shenanigans!).

I reckon I'm a fairly useless player. I'm guilty of running down the wings and scoring headers off crosses or lobbed through ball (not too much of that mind!).

Out of all the formations I got along the most with 4-5-1 but want to start playing more of a passing game.

My issues are I'm not the fatest responder in the world so seem to get closed down quite quickly or my passes keep getting intercepted. My players also never seem to make incisive passes (I watch my mate play with a similiar-ish team and the movement I see from off-the-ball players is night and day).

So, what do you all suggest! I'm using a BPL team, currently with a 4-3-1-2. Any players you'd recommend? I can list who I have if that helps.

Help a poor FIFA noob out! :)
 
I would recommend trying a standard 442. It's really solid in next-gen FUT and means you can do a bit of everything. You can 1-2 with your strikers, you can hit through balls to your LM/RM inside the full backs, you can cross, you can hit over the tops and when your midfield 4 get back in shape it means you're pretty solid defensively. It suits my playstyle though so may not suit you.

In general the formations I find strongest are in order:

433(2)
442
433(5)
41212
4231

Personally I don't get on with any of the other ones but not to say they may not work out for you. A mate of mine on similarish skill level (he's probably a little better at dribbling and passing but I probably win marginally more) absolutely swears by 4411. And when I play him with it, it causes me problems but tried it myself for 10-15 games and I couldn't use it.

Was using Robbery as well so no excuses for bad players :p.
