FIFA 14

Played my second world cup tourney after winning my first, got to semi finals and lost 2-1, first goal I should have blocked the long range shot but when i switched to the CB I moved him to the left instead of holding his ground, second goal was a crappy rebound.

Only a 3K payout for semi finals (no packs either), which is a huge drop from winning both that game and the next (30K and 3 packs).

It's so much easier to score in world cup mode, I'm finding Navas absolutely terrible as well, I'm thinking of adopting 4231 (with CAM's) and playing Giovinco and Diamanti/Giaccherini wide with Gerrard in the middle or should I just swap him out for Mirallas?

He never seems to be in the right positions and is incredibly weak, pull his shirt once and he does a 360 and not a single foul is ever given. I played someone with Young and every time I pulled his shirt once, it was a yellow and a free kick.

It's crazy how much shirt pulling people get away with. Won my 2nd game today 3-0. I'm finding Ashley Cole brilliant at LB in WC mode, pity he's so hate-able in real life :)

I've still not made it out the group, would have happened earlier had that guy not disconnected at 4-0 and dumb EA give me the defeat :mad:

Navas has been terrible when I used him too, very weak, nothing outstanding about his play, just a 4* skill Walcott run & cross player, not fun at all, I really want to get David Silva for some reason, having him hooking in shots from RF sounds tempting, still sticking with 3421 for now, its suprisingly effective....at times!
 
Gonna swap Navas for Mirallas, he's honestly a lot better albeit rated 5 lower.

I also have De Bruyne and Vieirinha as options.

Currently rocking 41212 with Europe and 41212(2) with SAM

It's really easy to score because everyones first touch is so god damn awful, I pressure opponents defenders and I usually nick the ball of them for a one on one with the keeper.

The gameplay is actually worse, but exploit the weaknesses and it's so easy to win.

Basically if you get the ball at the back quickly get rid or clear it, the first touch will kill you if you don't have yards of space/time.

They have managed to make fut worse in terms of gameplay but far more open due to how bad ball control is.

Vierinha is decent Sonny. Used him before I got Nani in a 1 player pack. Might switch back to him as Nani has gone a bit pants.

Playing in semi final and the game is start and stop due to lag. Go one down from corner and finally managed to equalise and then the game disconnected resulting in a loss :(
 
The servers on PS4 have been super dodgy all day for me, struggling to get into FUT. It's ridiculous though, I won a game easily 3-0, game finished and watched a few replays then clicked to skip and it gave me a server error, and a DNF and no 3 points when I went back into FUT. Makes me raging, especially as in Div 1 3 points are crucial.

Anyway, managed to get into Div 1 for the first time after floundering in Div 4 for a while. As expected it's mix of KO glitches and constant no skill lobbed through balls but they're both easy to deal with, KO Glitch just run a CB backwards into the box to clean it up, and lobbed through balls just let them take the ball down, stay off them and then just take the ball after their always poor first touch. Scoring goals has never been a problem for me, it's just conceding but I've had a few clean sheets in a row now, once you stop through balls everyone I'm playing seems to run out of ideas and just keeps trying them. I take great pleasure in beating Messi/Ronaldo/Ibra/Aguero etc teams that just spam through balls all the time with my cheap BPL team without doing any L1+Triangle passes.

People seem to have gotten a hang of world cup mode - a lot harder to win now.

Basically it's ping pong passing mode, where you have to just rapidly ping pong the ball about to prevent yourself from losing the ball due to how bad the first touch is.

Absolutely atrocious, doesn't resemble real football at all.

I've gone off it after the honeymoon period.
 
I finally got to the final of the World Cup the other day, and 5 mins into the game FIFA just crashes to the home screen, and at the same time the batteries in my controller died. I got a DNF obviously. I was so annoyed. Didn't even get the bonus coins for getting to the final.
 
Due to the first touch being awful the most lethal strikers are target men IMO.

But then you need pacey wingers too.

It's worse than normal ut I find. Easier to score using the methods which get slated on here
 
Finally won the WC. Opened packs...got nowt as usual, can't believe the amazing teams I come up against and I'm using a 5k equivalent.
 
Just lost to a guy playing 433 and spamming crosses to Palacio and Neymar, he won with a 25 yard header from Di Maria. Astonishing. Absolutely astonishing stuff.
 
Using this as my main team and this as my secondary/fitness team. The fitness team plays really well and the 79 CAM Fernandez is quite decent, scored a few crackers with him, 5* skills and 4* WF too!

I have got Mandzukic and Negredo to give a try in my main team. Reading on Mandzukic, he seems to be OP as hell.
