FIFA 15

I see you can now pre order this on PSN. £59.99 for the standard edition or £69.99 for the ultimate team edition. I really hope we never go all digital in the future.

I have played FIFA pretty much consistently since about '96, first FIFA on PlayStation and have played each game since '96.

However, the last couple of years I have found the game to just feel a little flat, I've never played them super seriously, but have always picked up and played a couple of games a few times a week.

FIFA 15 just has not grabbed me yet, I'm wondering if this will be the first one I actually miss. Ultimate team is ~ok~ but it's not 'fun', imho, too many people take it too seriously and play in very particular ways to help win as many matches as possible as opposed to just playing and having fun.

Meh. I'm not sure, I might pick a copy up for PlayStation 4, but I doubt it.

Do all the PS4 regulars have this on pre order yet? Kept my weekend free for it. 5pm finish on a Friday collect beers and fifa all weekend. Excited :D

Been missing 14 since iI sent it for trade in but Amazon were offering £24.99 and put that against Fifa 15.

No, i don't think they fixed anything only made it look next gen.

i will see what everyone else thinks before i'll buy it :)

About as much chance as them fixing the attitude of the standard FIFA player you encounter IMO :(

Yeah like you say it's more about the way people choose to play as opposed to the gameplay being broken at its core. I mean sure there are 'exploits' (and I use the term lightly) but the mass majority of them can be countered. For the kick off glitch you just right stick back to your centre back and then position him in the line of the runner and he'll win the header 99% of the time.

The crossing isn't really a glitch it's just the attack positioning stat weight is way too high and strength/jumping/heading acc isn't factored in enough. I'm confident they'll fix that.

The one that really annoys me and again isn't really a glitch is when your opponent hits an over the top and inexplicably your defender rushes forward... no real pattern to it, nor real way to stop it. Just have to get your full back over very quickly.

The biggest problem is the whole win at all costs mentality people adopt to the detriment of actually playing anything resembling football in shock horror a football game. Off balance 180 degrees over the tops, off balance 270 degrees passes, crossing with a giant strikers pathetic weak foot. Because people set out to win and win alone, most games I play in FUT just don't even come close to being a football game. It's embarrassing.

The game should severely punish you if you try to hit a 180 degrees over the top with your back to goal. It's impossible to get any accuracy or power doing a pass like this. I'd like to see the momentum mechanic kick in more if your passing accuracy is atrocious such as < 70%. I think at the moment if you have rubbish passing accuracy you gain momentum as the game thinks you need a helping hand :D.

Nice one, give us a short review afterwards? :)

Although saying that I only really play UT mode and it always plays completely different to other modes.
