FIFA 15

Confession time:

The last football game I had was this

Yes really.....Sensible soccer on Amiga.

I have never owned a FIFA game before, don't really follow football despite having played Sunday league in the past.......

....Really enjoyed the Demo, played about 2hrs last night.
Once I got the hang of the controls and found the "sprint" button :o I was well away.

First Match I lost 5-0, then 3-2, 2-2, 2-0, 1-0, 2-1........

I think I'll be buying the full game.

Every demo that has been released the actual game has felt much different so I think lots of stuff will be tweaked. I certainly hope the keepers are taken of steroids and I'll get used to the new shooting mechanics. I figured the only way I really score is getting so close to the keeper and tapping it in.

Tesco are doing it for 42 quid with code.. I've been tempted to just order standard edition for 42quid from gamestop because I've always recieved my games a day early..

Also is it true there's no pro clubs!?

Turns out the MS Store pre order is £58 with the EA Access discount applied, and that seems to be for the normal version with the Ultimate listed as unknown!

Might have to stick with a disc version on this, why they are still cheaper I don't know, its criminal!

I've been doing well with crossing ball in and header/volley

Can someone just clarity for me exactly what you get extra by going for the "Ultimate Team Edition" over the standard?

According to the EA website, if you pre-order the standard version you get "up to 15 gold packs" and on the Ultimate Edition you get "up to 40 gold packs" - why the "up to" bit??

Does this only apply if you pre-order for a digital download? - what about if you pre-order with one of the supermarkets?

Also, what do you get/not get if you buy one or the other from a shop on release day???

Its up to as you have to log in each week to get the pack, So if you miss a week you have missed the pack they wont give you two the following week

Ah!

So the "up to" bit is simply there in case you can't be ***** to log in and redeem a pack before it expires, they don't have to "owe" you one!

So does anyone know how the pre-order bit works??

If you pre order the ultimate edition you get a pack a week if you log on weekly regardless

My understanding is that you get 40 gold packs with the Ultimate Edition but the wording is a little strange for the standard edition as it says if you do pre-order then you get "15 Ultimate Team gold coins"!?!?!

I assume this means if you pre-order with someone, that particular retailer gives you codes for probably 15 gold packs??

In a nutshell I can't see any benefit in pre-ordering the Ultimate Edition as you don't get anything extra (other than perhaps a better price if the supermarkets hike their costs up!)

If you pre-order the UT Edition you also get historic kits, some extra goal celebrations, and a loan version of Messi for UT. Probably some other stuff too but apart from the free gold packs unless you can get it at a good price it's probably not worth the extra over the standard version.
