Honestly, just keep playing.
I'm getting so much better at defending against people running at me in the past few days. I'm finding that positioning and angles are everything...theres always a right time to take them out...of course sometimes it fails but a week ago I was conceeding 5 goals a game!
So there is definitely progress!
I tend to chase back until about 5 yards outside my own area, and I try to really limit the amount of times they can get 1v1 against my defender...the key is taking them out with 2 and if you can't do that..keep running backwards until you can!
Defending off the kickoff.....I'm finding myself now grabbing one of the wings or whatever and positioning myself nearer the centre and you pretty much always know which way they will try to run based on which side has the biggest gap for them to initially run down..so you are already thinking about cutting out this way...its not foolproof but its a lot better than not doing anything, thats for sure!
