Nope. Not purchased a FIFA since back then actually. Been just playing the demo's when a mate comes round. But with a new engine and "The Journey" available I fancy picking it up this year. Just not for the price they want at the moment if I can help it, as I am not a fan of EA. Might do a Gimpy in the end though if price does not go down in a couple of months.

Those were fun times, had more time on my hand back then and was really enjoying FIFA at the time. But game had hackers and stuff which kind of ruined it. I also recall people not being able to get on and there would be arguments, was fun though

I think the physics in PES 2017 are better, feels more natural, HOWEVER, as a complete package, FIFA nabs it with better presentation and by that I do not mean just visuals, but the whole caboodle, good fun.

The matchday presentation in PES from commentary to fans to chants is just rubbish.

Something just drew me to this one for some reason which is odd as I have been a PES guy for a long time.

Looking on my shelf now, I have DVD copies of:

PES 3
PES 4

Pes 2009

I even have a copy of Internatinal Superstar Soccer on the PC somewhere (Not sure which version).

I think part of the reason for buying FIFA was in a rage towards Konami

Not that they care about my £20 but it makes me feel better that they do not have it although I am sad that EA got some of it.

The first set of community slider settings are out, haven't used them yet but they normally improve the game quite a bit in CM.

I'm running Fifa 17 on an i5-4690K with an 8gb RX480 graphics card @ 1920x1080, 16gb RAM. I reckon I should be able to pretty much max out on settings, however at every resolution and no matter what settings I apply, I'm only getting around 30fps..... I don't have this issue with any other games. Does anyone have any idea as to what the issue may be / what I could do to fix it? The game is nearly unplayable.

Any thoughts welcome.

Capped the FPS in the settings?

Does the same when the 60fps is on and when the cap is turned off :-(

Have you tried turning down the settings to see if you get the same FPS?

I have Mike - exactly the same....it's weird - almost like there is a cap somewhere.

I managed to remove the Cap by changing the Vsynch setting, it now looks as though it is CPU throttling. FPS over 60, game jumping all over the place. If I loo kin the Windows performance monitor, CPU is frequently touching 100%. I'm shocked.

I have an i7 4770K and FIFA 16 micro stutters for me at stock.

4.4Ghz overclock and smooth as butter.

FIFA 17 is smooth but not tried it with the OC removed.

Upon further investigation.....the CPU was throttling because it was overheating. Lid off case and everything is smoooooooth. Time to look at a new cooling solution me thinks.

Got to say i have really enjoyed playing The Journey. But it has DLC written all over it. I was really getting into it, then it ended!

Yes and if they have a season pass, the price will be like star wars battlefront season pass at £40 and im not paying that! :mad:

How many hours play? I assume it doesn't end at the end of his playing career then?

I see your point but the problem is, I don't know if that is good or bad... if I'm basing my purchasing decision on it I need to know it's worth it.

If you r buying the game just for The Journey it is not worth it, you could complete it in less than a day.

Damn... that's disappointing...

I'm really hoping for a longer and more customizable "Journey" next year - Would be sweet to create a player from scratch, adjust his stats etc. and play until you retire...

Then maybe start your managerial career, or maybe become a pundit on TV
