FIFA 18

I am looking for some help please, I currently run two different formations:

433-4 - This works and keeps me a lot more tighter at the back, I want to find a formation that involves the LW/RW/Striker and CAM

3412 - I prefer this one for Squad Battles as everyone is involved, but its useless for online play.

I have 500k coins free, do these changes seem sensible? Hopefully Mkhitaryan will get an IF this week.
 
I’d keep bailey in , I preferred ake over Azp. Ake might get another in form though so I sold mine for a decent profit and will get the next if he gets one
 
I must concede that Fifa 18 is entirely pay to win.

Im a modest player who doesnt want to pay real money to play FUT, so after a few months of grinding ive managed to get together an 83 rated 98 chem team mostly ENG/PREM players.

I assume Squad Battles (single player) is made up of actual player made/bought teams just controlled by the AI right? Im pitted against an 88 rated 41 chem team on semi-pro. No problem i think, i have the chem advantage, should help me.

Nooo it quickly becomes obvious that the higher rated players negate the chem gap and just completely outplay me regardless. Not a pass out of place, perfect intercepts and good teamwork (41 chem team.....) i lose 3-2

Some kid has obviously just spent £££ on making the most highly rated team possible and didn't even consider chemistry or playstyles. He had a 98 rated messi :eek:. Sacking that mode off for now. I normally beat most teams on professional in offline seasons.

While having a better team/players obviously help, I can't say it's entirely pay to win.
It mostly comes down to who can play the META better.
 
It’s not entirely pay to win , a top player would still boss a lot of teams . I’ve beaten many expensive teams where the player is **** but lost to some teams that Are worth 100k or so . Personally I won’t chuck money at Fifa as I know it wont improve me that much . If only some top players were near me and sold training lessons it’d be more worth it , but then saying that FIFA have changed gameplay a lot this year
 
It's certainly more pay to win this year. I almost gave up when playing god squads, ive noticed now I've got a better team I can compete better.

What fifa doesn't have is balance.

The game design is based around imbalancing teams as much as possible by spending currency on it.

It's not to say a pro with an EPL sweat team wouldn't beat me with a 3 million team. But put two equal players one with an icon team and obe without and 80% of the time the icon player will win.

Without squad rated based leagues I.e overall 80 and under and 85 and under categories then the sky is the limit and Someone with a 70 rated team can play a 90 rated one.

That's not balanced is it?

Most games strive to deliver online balance. However the fifa community in general is toxic, immature, happy to spend hundreds of pounds to get an advantag over other people.
 
it is incredibly hard to compete when someone has a midfield of, say, Vieira, Gullit and Matthaus or Petit, you just never get the ball

That's what the elitists want and they don't want you to have it.

I enjoy a casual fifa, a bit of trading etc but looking at the game on me lovely it's about as pay to win as you can get.

Some poor saps pour thousands into a game that has a shelf life if less than 9 months. It makes me sad faced.
 
Having a better team helps of course, but a team of Bakayoko/G Jesus/Martial/Alessandrini/etc is still very dangerous. I've thrashed people with full Icon teams and lost to people with 100k teams.

Where better players make a big difference is if the (human) players are at equal skill levels, but the matchmaking is rubbish so that isn't often the case.

Also, mentally, people facing a stacked team instantly expect to lose, which makes it harder.

But what you can do with a handful of cherry picked players doesn't change the concept of the game which is basically a race to get the biggest advantage over your opp9nent by building a m9re expensive/higher stat squad. It's the whole premise of the game mode.

Most online games aim to balance things between players not create a situation where imbalance is designed to be exploited.

Sounds like you are playing the wrong game mode, play seasons which has balanced teams. The game mode is called Ultimate Team for a reason :p
 
On W4 L1 in the WL with this team:

The Bayern triangle has been great so far - Boateng stands out, such a classy CB.
Del Piero and Dybala get swapped mid game.
Khedira does a job at CM but could do with an upgrade, thinking about an icon at CM.

Trying to offload 91 Maradona at the moment to get CR7 or another icon.
 
In la Liga in form wass looks like a good cm and gets good reviews but for pretty much the same price you can get his sif which is a rm . If play him and move into cm at kick off will he loose chemistry ? I can then bring Lozano on at rf
