FIFA 18

Yeah, I've never understood the ones who hammer the game yet spend hundreds/thousands on it every year, if you're seeing a trend and repeated patterns in how you feel about the game year in year out then vote with your wallet.

Packs though are clearly an addiction for some that are hard to shake, it's like adult footy stickers on steroids because you can actually use the players in a meaningful way. It's one reason I get bored early on now, back in 13, 14 and 15 I had the top players but since refusing to pump money into it then it gets a bit crap just sticking with an average side for months on end, when you loan players like Ronaldinho and realise how much more fun they are to use it's hard to go back to Martial regardless of how OP he is.
 
Cheapest year of FIFA for me since I can remember. 12k points at the beginning and not spent since. The consumers are there own worst enemy, as mentioned people are still willing to blow a lot of money on the game even when they aren't happy with it. No point in EA doing anything when there paid to do nothing.

Ironically, this FIFA I have probably spent more on than the previous versions yet I have played it less than any other FIFA ever! Maybe, that is my reason for defending it due to the money I have put in to it.
It took me 8 months to get Ronaldo in 17, I had him after a couple of months of 18. I think this kind of ruined the game for me, I chopped and changed teams each week in 17, this one I have had the same team since before Christmas! The appeal to try new players has gone, there just aren't enough good, competitive players in the game now and FUT has just become waaay to repetitive.

I have played 380 games in total on FUT and around 65 in normal seasons. I had 380 games by November in 17. I don't think its due to the state of the game, I think I am just getting old.

I'm with SuperMan here, as you know. The only discussion I read on FIFA is this one on OCUK, I don't really watch many streams/youtube vids or read threads on FIFA as its just depressing to read, I would implore you to do the same. I just go on my own opinion and even the things you have mentioned diva are not game breaking for me. You can't possibly criticise EA's model and then give them hundreds of pounds. If you are that against it, boycott the game or suck it up and just take it for what it is, a game :p

Why can't someone comment or pass judgement on something that you have an interest in? People do just that day in day out with football clubs. I'm just commenting on how much better Fifa could be if EA were actually competent. As it is, its enjoyable but slightly frustrating.

I'm talking in general but if you want a real world example Leeds & Newcastle fans criticise comment on the way their clubs are run but still blindly go see them, buy merchandise etc. As I do with Spurs and get frustrated with when Levy cashes in on decent players:(

People generally pass comment on things they are passionate about or have an interest in - It's hardly breaking news.
 
fifa is just the same old, same old. an addiction with a love to hate relationship. if your seriously unhappy with the game/EA vote with your wallet and do not reward them. this is the reason why they only get £30 from me every year at the beginning just to kick start my club and not a penny more is spent as quite frankly i think ea are lazy especially with the pc version.
 
Why can't they implement a system that rewards players for playing or funding FUT by letting items carry over for example, obviously having your whole club carryover might be a bit too much, but surely a system can be put in place that doesn't result in you starting completely from scratch having to refund the whole thing for another 9 months or whatever you play for. Yes, there's the argument it could be unfair, but it's unfair from the beginning anyway due to people already pumping hundreds or thousands into the web app before the game even launches.
 
I wont spend more £'s on packs i've had 3 x 12k this year, and packed nothing. I have pulled David de Gea and Christian Eriksen from reward packs months ago but the three 12k pack openings were terrible.

People have him anyway in September but yeah I didn’t mean icons carrying over for everyone.

The patch seems to agree with my play which is weird as I’m the pass it forward as fast as possible type player, dribbling seems awesome with the really good players and keepers have definitely been buffed, or it may have just been because Fahrman was in net for a number of the games I played.

Wing play seems much improved as well, conceded 3 headers from prime Inzaghi in a game.

Also apparently home and away isn’t fixed in WL, if you go into team management it shows you which side you’re on lol.

I play tested Fifa years ago and met Teebs an ultimate team designer, we got to have a q&a session and I asked the question about rewarding loyalty and rewarding pack openings with tokens that could be used to unlock untradable rewards their answer was the loan cards. That’s as good as it get people.
 
This game :o

Just lost 1-0 to a player that didn't leave his half until the 90th minute and didn't have a single shot on goal.

21 shots on goal to 0 and a 1-0 loss.

Edit: The amount of lag tonight has rendered my passing game completely ineffective. Even the formation screen has a stupid amount of lag which is shocking but not surprising from a company like EA.

41212 (2) just isn't working for me anymore, not sure if the patch has done something to alter anything, just can't seem to fluidly attack anymore. Bad times. I have no plan B!
 
Finally hit Gold 3 but it's been a massive chore compared to yesterday and I've now got a stinking headache :(

Lost so many games by a single goal in the last minute tonight after being in the lead, could easily be sat on Gold 2 now.
