I have to agree with this - no FIFA game is going to suit everybody, but this one isn't bad in comparison to what we've had in previous years.

They've already fixed the overhead kick issue, really not much of a problem anymore.

With the new patch they're improving manual defending, and reducing how easy it is for attacks to rob your defenders so we should see less of those 7 back to back challenges that go the attacker before you concede. They're changing first time timed finesse to reduce the accuracy when the ball is played from behind, making strength count more so you'll be more likely to be able to off players coming at you from the side if your player has decent strength stats, and also improving players ability to score 1 v 1's - all changes I support.

Still some issues -
Kick off goals
Constant high pressure is still too overpowered

But I think this FIFA is in a pretty good place compared to 17 and 18 at this stage of the game.

I'm also **** at it, so its not like I'm just saying this because I'm good.
 
i deffo enjoyed 18 more than this one apart from the constant low driven shots. the game play just felt more fluid than this years. its all a matter of opinion and preference though. i absolutely despised this game when it first came out but now i just tolerate it as i have no other choice.. just need to put up with it and get on with it till september next year.

on a different subject i've dumped the 41212(2) for 4231 and am having a lot more success.
 
To expand on my finesse/weak foot thing. EA pride themselves on creating a simulation but if any of the devs have played football or watch it regularly, they will know how immensely difficult it would be to finesse with your weak foot, it's near impossible to see in RL so why do they make it possible in game! It's just so ****ing annoying keeping a player on their weak foot and it happens.
 
I love it/hate it on a fairly equal basis. I dont mind conceding well worked goals its just when you think "what the actual badword just happened there". :p

Dont think fifa has ever been a "simulation", its an arcade game. Where else would all these Man Utd players actually be decent.
 
The worst thing for me is the stupid amount of times the ball rebounds to the other teams players after tackling them. It’s infuriating at times.

Another one is where you want to pass it out of the box but it will ignore the direction you’re aiming and pass it to the other teams attackers.
 
This game is appalling. Period. I was at a point where I'd defend it, but it's genuinely awful and they don't seem to change crucial parts of it. Add to poorly overloaded servers and you make the problem worse.
 
Finally got a chance to splurge on the packs last night, best I got was Kompany x 2, David Silva x 2 and Isco, could have been worse but hardly haul of the century!

The passing mechanic is absolutely awful - I've lost count of the number of times I've been in plenty of space and the simplest of passes has just flown out of play or straight to an attacker - typically in the last 5-10 minutes of a game (I presume as a sort of handicap for the team leading!)

That's down to your team being fatigued, under pressure or both. Or should I say that's what it was when its happened to me.
 
I like this years game but it doesn’t feel very rewarding when winning.

There are still some very fundamental things that needs fixing, particularly the point Andy has made. Also a lot of 5* weak foot players are taking shots on their strong foot in circumstances where their “weak foot” is the better option, quite infuriating when you buy an icon like Butra and he decides he has a 1* weak foot :p

SMS SBC done this morning and cost me nothing from using players in club and rewards :) can’t see me ever starting him unless he gets upgraded a fair bit but looks like a very strong substitute.
 
Also for the most part enjoy this FIFA more so than the last year. It's by no means perfect but with a few tweaks could be a great game. It's tolerable thats the main thing. Rivals does bring out the toxicity everyday of the week though.

Edit: I do believe the servers are a large part in most of the flaws in the game it's as though each player isn't playing the same game at times. It's inexcusable with the amount of money that's generated through this mode.

Commentary has been a joke for years, I've figured that my elite run might boil down to the fact I chilled listening to music not foaming at the mouth listening to them tell me a 2-0 lead is a dangerous one.
