I worry much more about the player rather than the players. I'd rather face a lesser player with a full icon team than a much better player with a discard gold team. If skill levels are equal it helps though for sure.

Yes but any idiot can finesse with a an amazing player.

What division are you in?
I'm in the middle of div 5 and come across some really good sides, I'd like to think with this team I'd be at least div 3 give it take a bit

I can't stick in Div 3, I'm so bad defensively, people just pass it to a player in my box and I'm unable to tackle, if I do it's a penalty!

I've been stuck in div 3 for a while and also struggle with tackling. I can't see myself getting any higher. People just seem to be able to run straight into me and take the ball without even pressing tackle.

I watch the better players and I'm sure they're holding a button that just keeps their defending player within touching distance of the attacker at all times, even doing skill moves etc they're able to read exactly what they're going to do. Their jockey button seems waaay better than mine.

it's r1 i use to press the player. but you can't just keep it held down the player will over commit. you need to press and hold at times and at others just press and let go after a second.

What does R1 do? My buttons are configured a lot differently to the default

depends on how you use it. if you are controlling the player nearest to opponent then press it you will pull a player out of position which isn't good. i will usually be controlling a CDM or CM and then use it.

i find i don't concede anything from inside the box or wings or crosses. it's all shots from outside the box either timed finesse or smashed into top corner.

i will use it to press on the wings making sure not to over commit for the cut inside. i will use it if they pass to a player near the box and i don't have a cdm near them to tackle before they can get a shot off. it closes them down and then let the ai just stand in front of them for a split second when i let go and then get my cdm in for a tackle. my back 4 are just there to block crosses and block shots and clear crosses nothing else. so they have to get close to the players and i use r1 for that. again if you use it too much it makes them over commit and if you don't use it enough they have too much space it's a fine balance and i never use it to pull aplayer out of position. i always make it send the nearest player to the ball towards the player.

What's your record? It's funny we always take advice off folk and then never know how many they actually manage to win

The real question should be: Why do you bother playing that much rivals in the first place? It’s so boring.

For the past 10 years the only games I play are COD and FIFA, what else can I do other than play rivals?! There are no other weekly game modes.

I know you will say the game is rubbish, I don't get raged like you do, I like playing football games, I'd be gutted if I didn't have any to play, I also can lose and not cry/rage quit

£5 for 100k, those were the days, IF Bent and Agbonlahor up front, deadly.

Those tournaments were pretty fun but were reliant on someone hosting the website etc, he disappeared and it all died

I love playing football games too, that’s why it’s frustrating that EA don’t put any effort in (monopolised market etc).

First go at the weekend league and at 6 games in all I can say is that I hate it

Loaded teams, people playing all sweaty and other rubbish ways of winning and players are just second to everything. Absolutely terrible. Won't be playing again, a break from online for a bit and then I'll stick to Rivals if at all.

Rivals I don't find any different, harder in some aspects as you're only playing players equal to you so its 50/50, at least with WL you get a decent run at the beginning before it all goes wrong

Get what you mean. Tbh if I knew they were releasing the Ibra SBC I wouldn't have got him, I'd have done Best prime instead. That being said can't really complain with how the team's playing:

Baby Best - 32 games, 32 goals, 12 assists. **** knows what that would be with his prime version!
FB Ibra - 28 games, 26 goals, 21 assists
Prime Raul - 28 games, 20 goals, 24 assists
TOTY Marcelo - 7 games, 6 goals. Played as a CM in a 41212 narrow.

I've got 700K in the bank at the moment. Think I'm going to save for TOTY Kante.

Last game brought up 500 wins on my account. Record of 500-20-194. Not bad but I'm definitely not as good as I was a couple years ago.

All them games, are they just WL? You told me not to play Rivals, practise what you preach!

Are you referring to my record or the player stats? All the stats for those players are from just WL matches.

I really wish they would have better stats for the game, offline/online, all games have stats for everything now and all EA muster up is your overall record and top scorers/assists etc in your club, what about ALL the players you've ever had? What formation served you best? Goals scored/conceded, what minute etc etc.

6-2 so far, played some decent FIFA actually, one of the losses; I rarely ever rage quit but the guy crossed three times and scored every single one so couldn't be arsed.
