FIFA 19

okay well there is something definitely 100% hidden in the game.

i could feel the difference in that last match as soon as it kicked off my players were all on steroids. just from the way Tevez was controlling the ball, his turning, ball control was so different. as if he was on steroids and not just him all my players were like that. futmas gomez was faster, more agile leaping over tackles. i won 7-2 but i don't understand why my players were so strong in this game as if they had all been given performance enhancements before kick off. i've never had them play like this before. they felt completely different and it wasn't just a feeling they were. it wasn't me playing better i played like i always do the players themselves were all completely different.

i don't understand why it's in the game but it's shocking that they can manipulate the game so much. worst thing is i won and i'm complaining. why can't my players be on steroids every game? they felt amazing to play with. i was literally unstoppable up against a very good silky player.
 
next game and a conspiracy against me. easy ball to UCL Allan and he can't control it. Similar thing happens again. As if he's suddenly developed retardation. i go through on goal kyle walker slides and missed ball takes me down just outside of box. yellow card.

he goes through on goal. i tug his shirt twice. he doesn't go down. ref stops play he's still got ball and through on goal. red card to me. wtf? all inside 15 mins now down to 10 men. i win 2-0 lol and he rage quit after playing 45 mins with 10 men and dominating through the wings.

It is strange at times, have a pretty good team and often playing average gold teams I can barely make a pass. Have to try and sit tight and not concede till it decides I can play normally again.
 
Sometimes the above can be down to connection. Secondly it happens drastically when someone scores a goal and momentum kicks in. Your players feel untouchable until they change something or break back. That's why choking 3-0 leads is a fairly common thing.
 
Dynamic game manipulation is something that needs to go. I'm not 100% convinced its a thing or just confirmation bias, but one of the biggest things that EA could do to reassure the player base in my opinion would be a clear, concise statement leaving no ambiguity about scripting / momentum / dynamic game adjustment etc.

This is ultimately what I was trying to say on Saturday - it’s definitely present in the game and I saw it more than ever with my first WL

I, like you, had this go for an against me and I find it happens closer to a rank threshold - e.g. if you need 1 win to level up your players can’t even control the ball and pass for a game or two, and then all of a sudden they’re god like and you win easily

A few other quirks I’ve seen along the way (and not just this fifa!)

- once a player scores 3 in a match, getting 4+ becomes very difficult (I’ve had TIF Werner miss tap ins!!)

- if your players are approaching a milestone (for example 10 goals and they’re on 9), again it’s super hard to score with them for a few games

- goals close to half time

- goals close to 90 minutes

- the ball phasing through world class midfielders/defenders

- rebounds landing perfectly at the opponents attackers feet

- if you need something to progress towards a weekly objective it becomes harder (I’ll easily win Legendary on squad battles until it becomes part of an objective, then it’s noticably different)

I’ve experience most of this in career mode as well as FUT, so it’s definitely something in the game engine to make it ‘more exciting’

Don’t get me wrong there is still a skill aspect here but the game definitely works against you sometimes
 
What... People are complaining about momentum and possible scripting?! :eek: it doesn't exist guys ;)

I remember when people would get laughed out of a thread if momentum or scripting was mentioned.
 
Well, so far Best isn't bad, he's not the "best" but hes doing good enough, wing swapping with Nedved so its working out well and allowed me to start FB ibra up top instead of Vieri, wow, hat trick inside 30 mins on his debut, makes so many better runs, better finishing, bullies people in ways Vieri only could dream of!

In short, Vieri has been sold, tempted to get Pogba instead of Modric to try out, but need to find a way to get him into the team, may have to drop Campbell for Varane if I wanted to do it :(
 
I also enjoy it, but its ignorant to pretend some form of momentum doesn't exist. I dont believe in scripting, but the way momentum shifts and its not just on 19 either is pretty horrific. Its nice that even the commentator tells you momentum is changing from time to time.
 
You know TOTY has hit when you look through you haul & see Isco x 2, Keylor Navas, Lukaku, Icardi & Cavani and between them they are only worth 300k! :eek: sell or keep for SBCs?

Also, Courtois or De Gea?

FB Ibra worth it if you've already got FB Tevez? Starting to get used to Tevez and hoping to get a FB Robben/D.Luiz to throw my high rated cards into.

i don't believe in scripting but there is 100% definitely a hidden momentum mechanic.

as for it being a connection issue. i have 350MB with 20 MB upload. i do speedtests and i actually get more than this. i get like 390MB at times.

i also have the router in the same room as my ps4 pro. i ran a 30m cat 6 ethernet cable upstairs from the living room where i have a superhub 3 in modem mode and i then have it connected to a netgear pretty decent router (not the best but it's very good) and it's then connected to my ps4 pro.

it's not a connection thing because with my set up my players should be on steroids every game if it was. i probably have one of the best connections out there.

it's 100% hidden momentum. how do i record 30 mins of gameplay on a ps4 pro? you can feel the difference right away your players are just magically better. the way they control the ball is completely different. tight fluid turns, it's crazy how good they can all of a sudden become in a one off game. it's the first time i've felt it working for me in ages. i honestly thought they had taken it out. i now realise it's been working against me all this time and i've had it on my side once since i upgraded to better players.

when i had a weaker team it worked more for me i think as Zaza was unplayable in games outside the foot goals from everywhere. buit i just played a guy with 4 icons in his team and superstars everywhere like flashback ibra, etc and it didn't kick in for me.

so it's as if it's broken.

i've came up against him 3 times so far and one player just kept passing it to him and mashing shoot and it went in a few times, he is the new ronaldo. much better than tevez due to his size and shooting

Definately! I really wanted to love Tevez but just can't get on with him, he doesn't even make the bench now.

Yeah maybe so, some scarily high requirements out there, although I could maybe do most of Roy Keane, who when I had him was great! But I could sell them and have half the coins for him already! Got so many low end useless informs i need to sell half of, too!
