FIFA 19

I'm not saying it's good, but every year there's a way that everyone uses to score and I'd rather deal with timed finesse than low driven.
I'd say drilled shots require more skill though as you have to be through on goal most of the time. Time finesse is basically anywhere near the edge of the area.

Low drivens would go in from outside the area with players like Musa, they were much easier to pull off. I honestly don't concede many timed finesse goals, I don't even think that many people try them or have gone through the tutorial and I'm in one of the higher divisions where if it was a mechanic that was so overpowered you'd see them used every game.

I do think 45 degree angle timed finesses may need a tweak, but there are ways to combat them as manually shifting your keeper even slightly is enough to stop them if you time it right - but in my opinion they can't do anything to finesse shots until they've made other more important changes. Timed Finesses are one of the few reliable ways to score this FIFA, as if you're able to get a bit of space on the edge of the 18 yard box they you've a decent chance at a goal. Until they tone down AI defending and or improve passing intricate play around the edge of the box is dead, so its either lump it in for a cross or try and finesse. If you smash finesse shots without other tweaks first then there are fewer ways to stick the ball in the back of the net, and that isn't fun.

Crossing is used against me I'd say around 75% of matches, Naldo has made a huge difference with clearing them though to the point where some players switch on to it and start trying something else as they know it's not going to be that effective.

Started playing Div rivals after getting used to the game on Squad Battles. Got hammered in all 5 of my placement matches but then had a few victories since being put in Div 7. Had a game yesterday that was 1-1 nearly all match, then I scored a 91st minute winner, I was going crazy :D love it when you're that invested in a game :p

Sturridge is by far my best scorer still, although Herrera is great at longer range efforts with finesse

I'm still obviously doing a lot wrong though. My passes seem so slow and laboured compared to the people I play who zip the ball around so quickly. Also, I get really frustrated when I pass the ball and the player I've passed to just stands there and it gets intercepted. Just part of learning I guess.

Also, is O (on PS4) the best to use when trying to get the ball off someone when running with them or trying to intercept? I keep giving away cheap fouls doing it whereas people I play virtually shove me the ground and get away with it

RIP market

Edit: actually can’t see many people doing this first batch, and they’ve made you need an icon to do it when there’s barely any on the market to begin with lmao.

This is my current team, La Liga/Seria A hybrid. It plays nice but Manduczic hasn't got enough pace for me. Cant make full use of Modric's fantastic through balls. Eventually I want Suarez, but can anyone think of a good stopgap until I can afford him. Also, do you think that goalie lets that back four down a bit?

Aguero, aubameyang, or Lukaku? Using aguero at the moment but I'm crossing more and he's struggling with the headers.

I'd hold off changing too much at the moment, I wouldn't go for Lukaku incase we see crossing become less effective with a patch. Auba isn't a bad shout.
