FIFA Confederations Cup Brazil 2013 15-30 June *** Spoilers ***

Meh this game has become a damp squib now, Brazil for some odd reason have totally off the boil since their goal.

Brazil just giving the ball away to Mexico.

Yeah, I agree with that. Don't get me wrong, Neymar can be spectacular when he has space, and might be a very, very good player. But I've not seen him do it against a genuinely good defence yet.

That said, I've only seen him play against a decent defence in friendlies which never really tell you much about a player. As you say, at Barca where he's not the top dog, he might be a little less selfish and pass the ball, in which case he could be a brilliant signing. It's not a given yet though.

Neymar is at his best (imo) when he's on the counter attack, I think he's less suited to having time on the ball with an organised defence in front of him.

He's still a fantastic player, but more of a 'going forward' type player rather than 'breaking defences down' type player, I think he'll add a slightly new dimension to Barcelona.

It is very typical of the English press though, happened with Messi previously, Neymar is not having his best game in friendlies against England and people who barely watch him spout nonsense about him being 'overrated' or just not as good as his reputation suggests. Friendlies aren't really taken that seriously.

For me Neymar epitomises the typical 'greedy' player, he'll always go for the goal himself if there is even the slightest chance, rather than pass to a better positioned player.

Lump every time he pulls it off into a highlights video and he looks like a footballing god. Watch him day to day and more often than not he seems to lose the ball a lot unnecessarily and attempt a lot of shots that just aren't going to happen.

Sounds like a typical winger.

LOL he's been laying some great crosses into the box tonight  so much for him being greedy tonight:p

He's a fantastic player who is what?? 21?? Still got a lot of yrs ahead of him and will mature into a better player, if he's managed properly.

My thoughts as well at the moment.

However, when he's playing at Barca alongside Messi and Iniesta who are probably two of the best three players in the world, he might realise that he has to pass the ball. If he learns to pass and move, he could be a wonderful player.

^^ He's also been dropping some absolute dross into the box when under no pressure at all.

None of the Brazilian backs can keep a hold on Dos Santos, who just tears them apart everytime they go forward lol.

Luiz is monstrous in defence today.

Barcelona will be interesting for him I think, it'll either make him into a better player than he already is, or show him up as someone who's 'only' pretty good but can dance around some poor defences in the Brazilian leagues.

All the tricks and fanciful stepovers in the world won't make you look good if suddenly defences aren't giving you time and you're just getting tackled a lot :p

Disgusting by the backs of Brazil, Marcelo is just so utterly useless...can't defend and Alves spends too much time bombing forward and not getting back to defend :/.

Jo is on, maybe he will score a goal lol.

I'm not sure what you expect from this type of player. With the runs he goes on you're not going to get absolute consistency unless you're at a low level. Whether that is a bad thing or not is up for you to decide I guess.

This is not a comparison between the two but I accept that Ben Arfa will sometimes run himself into a corner just on that slight chance we'll see something wonderful, by assisting someone else or setting himself up. Then again, I support one of the worst footballing teams.
