FIFA Women's World Cup 2023 **spoilers** [20th July - 20th August 2023]

The naivety of women's football is pleasing to see. Spain have had so many chances to take the ball into the corner and waste time but they've kept trying to score and given the ball away.

Spain have the most possession, most shots, most shots on target, fewest fouls, most corners, fewest offsides, literally ahead on every stat. Hard to say they dont deserve the win

Ultimately not good enough, Spain the better side and deserved winners. Our midfield completely non existent and more often than not if you control midfield you’ll win the game.

That being said the ref was appalling, bottled it when Spain should’ve been down to 10. Kicking the ball away is an automatic yellow, except when it’ll mean a red it seems. Abysmal performance only surpassed by Toone.

An England final wouldn’t be a final without the manager cocking it up. For all the talk of Wiegmans genius she ballsed it up, plain and simple. Hooked Russo and stuck Hemp up front who then wasn’t in the game….Toone played 85 minutes when she was by far away the worst player on the pitch. I can’t understand the thought process.

She’d be a perfect men’s team manager, I’ll bet the FA are eying her up already because god only knows they love a failure.
