FIFA World Cup 2014 - GROUP A [Brazil, Croatia, Mexico, Cameroon - 12/13/17/18/23 June] **spoilers**

I don't think many people are calling it cheating but the referee was poor and was influenced heavily by the crowd and the occasion.

I'm getting really annoyed at people on my Facebook/Twitter feeds raving about Neymar. He's by no means poo, but he's far from world class.

Spot the Brazil fan.

lol

Barcelona FC and a £49million contract says otherwise, but hey what do they know about football??

Neymar is arguably one of the best if not the best young talent at this years world cup

He led Santos to their greatest run since Brazil legend Pele stopped playing for the club in the 1970s, helping them win the 2010 Brazilian Cup, the 2011 Copa Libertadores and three straight Sao Paulo state championships.
He is the club's leading scorer in the post-Pele era with 138 goals in 229 matches.

Brazil played no differently than Holland or Spain in previous cups. Spain have been a dive fest of complaining idiots in most of their games. Iniesta/Busquets as the main divers in game with the likes of Ramos elbowing, smashing in to and nasty tackling people. Most teams do the same things, a few dives, a few nasty tackles, the odd elbow and boat loads of shirt pulling at set pieces, the majority goes unpunished. I watched the final with Holland vs Spain and it was a disaster, loads of disgraceful tackles AND loads of massive over reactions to almost non existent touches by Spanish players.

I forget the exact circumstances but didn't Cap De villa dive completely to get a Portuguese player sent off? I didn't not watch them after that. This crap happens with all teams, non are completely innocent or clean.

Seriously if Blatter is remotely serious about bringing in video replays and gets it done in main leagues or tournaments I'll be thrilled. 99% of the diving and complaining is because the decisions are made wrong so so so often. With video replays 95% of big huge issues get called right and because there is little to gain 99% of the cheating would just stop.

If Croatia called a challenge for the elbow it would likely be a red card, ref probably can't see/tell that Neymar watched him coming and was ready for him. LIkewise the goal I think a replay(if it was given against Olic) would be overturned, and the penalty almost certainly would have been overturned. Video replays will change the shape of football for the better for every game going forward.

It will also stop 99% of players complaining about decisions, crowding refs and generally being *****.

If you're talking transfer fee(bit unclear when you say contract as you could mean the transfer or his personal contract with Barca?), then his transfer fee has since been made plainly clear it was about €100million, and they could be fined anything up to €50mil for lying about the taxes they tried not to pay initially. Even though it would be harsh to count it as 150mil cost, it could effectively have cost them up to 150mil to sign him.

Nuts money and he hasn't as yet shown he's that good.

Don't forget that in this game he offered incredibly little penetration, didn't really link up well with anyone, scored a crap penalty that should have been saved and scuffed another shot that should have been saved. He put in more anonymous performances for Barca this year than he did game changing ones. He had the odd very special moment but for his cost, well, Bale had far far more game changing moments for Real this year. Neymar is younger but ultimately he cost more and played less well by some margin.

Really want to see Eto'o do well, I would say it's got to be his last world cup but with African countries you never quite know, entirely depends on how long he wants to play really they'll probably still pick him. At his best I love watching Eto'o play.

This game can't help but feel like a warm up for the game at 8pm though.

They don't have anyone that can play football though apart from Eto'o.

No playmaker, no-one with any vision.

It's basically physical vs technical in this match up.

Alex Song is a footballing genius, how could you say they don't have anyone in midfield :o

:p

Mexico starting well, commentator god awful "Cameroon will dominate because the mexicans are small". The classic, meaningless and stupid "ref not letting any 50/50's go, not letting the game get any rhythm"... really, because he blew the whistle when as the guy ran forward with the ball a guy behind pulled him back by the shoulder and broke up the attack.... 50/50 and the ref was wrong to give it?

Why do ITV have the worst commentators ever?

Let's have it right, the Brazilian league is a joke.

Crossing from the left flank, been 3-4 chances to put in a good ball and the delivery has been abysmal so far. The earlier one with about 3 people in the middle which the left winger managed to knock stupidly high and slow and behind the attackers.

EDIT:- do'h, terrible decision.
