He done it to you cm?
Why? Has a player that's committed multiple counts of violent conduct been given a ban at all levels before?
His offences are exceptional.

I get why people want Suarez suspended, but is it fair?
he is property of Liverpool. What he did he did it with the Uruguay shirt. Shy should his club pay for it?! I swear this system is well and truly ****ed up! So a player goes on international duty, and he gets injured. What does the national team do? The club STILL have to pay his wage, they have to medicate the player and they have to deal with the loss in price of the player. It's even worse when the injury is long, like 6 months.
The club pays the wages not vice versa. if the player can't play for the nation is fine. He is property of the CLUB.
Imo, whatever he gets, it needs to be national team based. If he gets 10+ match ban, it should be a ban from the national team (that would be like 1/2 years, missing the Copa America too!). Personally I feel that if something happens to a player when on international duty (say an injury) the national team should pay the wages of the player until he is match fit, the money of the people medicating him, and a compensation (based on the injury length, type of injury etc.). If a nation is not ready to pay these fines then they can not call up the player 9if you call up the player you automatically accept these rules).
I know this method is NOT viable because the national teams do not have that much money, but it really takes the ****.
If Suarez gets a blanket football ban you can better your bottom dollar Liverpool will appeal it.

I'm pretty sure that clubs are insured now if a player gets injured on international duty, I expect that it applies for the rare occasions on which they get a blanket ban as well.
Of course it is fair.
If he did that on the street and now locked up and then in prison for a year in Brazil, Liverpool can't do a thing about it, they are not going to let him out on match day just because he didn't bite someone in a Liverpool shirt.
What he does elsewhere affects all aspects of his life, it is not mutually exclusive. It is time he learn that lesson too.

Cantona. Though what he did was different and presumably wasn't covered by the actual rules. Why? Has a player that's committed multiple counts of violent conduct been given a ban at all levels before?
They're strange no doubt but no more dangerous than punching, elbowing or going in 2 footed on someone.
Hit has bit three separate people now, how many other players have bit someone else on the pitch?

Stange, come on now.

Liverpool knew the risks when they signed him. He had a history of this conduct already. Then he did it again in a Liverpool shirt. Now hes done it a third time on the world stage.
Liverpool deserve no sympathy here.
Because it's unusual and not many other players have done it does it make it any worse?
It escalates within the season doesn't it? But then next season the slates wiped clean again. He attacked a fan. I meant violent conduct on other players. I can think of several players that have been sent off many times for violent conduct and still only received a standard ban.
