On Welbeck, standing close to another player is right there at the absolute bottom of footballing talent lists. Any footballer can do that, literally any footballer, being able to run up the wing and actually pass it to a team mate rather than trip yourself over trying to do a trick is a pretty important skill for a footballer, one that Welbeck doesn't have.
You keep saying "he'll stretch Italy".... by running into corners and then losing it, as he's done for the past 4 years? That isn't stretching, again ANYONE can run in a straight line, anyone can kick it down the line and run after it, it's the bit after you catch up to the ball and need to do something useful with it where he utterly falls flat on his face..

I've criticised Ozil for not standing near players? don't think I have, but make up whatever it is you want.
Anyone can do it and yet you are here posting on an internet forum and he is in Brazil representing his country.![]()

You've criticised him consistently for his workrate. If it's so easy, you'd think that every player would work as hard as Welbeck.
Also, as nobody responded to it last time, I'll repeat my point that last season he scored the same number of goals, at a better ratio of goals to games, than Negredo and Sterling, and three more than Barkley in fewer games. Usually coming from wide, and playing in a Utd team which was frankly atrocious.
Lol, Italy are now in to 2.52. Clearly we're not the only ones thinking that 2.6 was a bit long compared to England!
No Suarez then. I'm surprised, it's going to leave Uruguay needing a result against Italy.
Why would England's shorten much more than Italy's though. Don't get that.

Don't think 1st place will make that much of a difference tbh. If I remember correctly, Group D plays group C, which is made up of Colombia, Ivory Coast, Japan, Greece.
Colombia, Ivory Coast and Japan can all be beaten by Uruguay/England/Italy.
