Game kinda died since Rooney has taken Sterling's position

Yet I was shouted at for suggesting Rooney shouldn't be in there under any circumstance, when someone else asked why Rooney was wide left and Sterling in the middle.

Rooney is crap there, always has been, always will be. He's not a play maker, sooner England/Utd actually play him to his strength, the sooner he'll be useful. Tonight he's been abysmal on the whole and will likely continue to be all cup.

I'd like to see Lallana or Barkley start next game over Rooney... in fact pretty happy for Rooney to go home.

Season under LVD might do him a world of good, needs to either play upfront and have manager beat the dropping deep crap out of him, or play wide left and make those runs and crosses.

Fergie/Moyes let him do what he wanted, even while he was making a huge deal about new contracts and leaving. They need a task master who will get him doing what he's best at and not trying what he's crap at.

Not sure what all the Rooney hate is about - can't lay blame for this defeat solely on him. He hasn't had a good game, but aside from Sturridge and Stirling I can't think of an England player that has?

Welbeck had OK moments, Gerrard has been solid but not spectacular, Henderson was pretty anonymous. Seems to me that people are singling out Rooney due to unrealistic expectations placed on him because media outlets have made people believe he is better than he is.

Henderson got through a hell of a lot of work. Rooney simply didn't play his position.
