FIFA World Cup 2014 - GROUP F [Argentina, Bosnia-Hercegovina, Iran, Nigeria - 15/16/21/25 June] **sp

Argentina looking pretty unremarkable at the moment.

I'm not sure why the commentators are complaining about Iran defending, what are they supposed to do? I think they'd be happy with a draw here and then try and win the last game.

Which commentators are on?

Iran are working hard, pressing everytime Argentina get the ball and defending deep. Argentina can't use their pace because there's no room in behind the defence, they can't play intricate one touch football because Iran have got everyone behind the ball and aren't giving them any space so it'll need a wonder strike to open them up a bit.

:D, always watch a stream if I can to avoid our WC commentators. Has Phil Neville been back on?

He was in the BBC studio and did a better job of it a few days ago, but then he was commentating on the BBC highlights of the England-Uruguay game and sounded really quite awful again. :p

I haven't checked any of the streams, hadn't thought to, is our favourite geordie commentator doing the world cup with the american channel?

I really don't understand why, in particular the BBC, are they testing new people in the world cup. Surely like pretty much the football itself, you try out commentators for instance in some random rubbish Iran vs Iraq qualifier, then if they are half decent give them a bigger game again in the qualifying stage. The world cup is a big stage for commentators as well. Why not go into the tournament with an established and well liked team, seems particularly unprofessional.

I generally forget which game is which and who is on what channel but Neville was terrible, Murphy was woeful, Carlise is god damned awful.

Pundit wise Lineker is fine but all the insightful/useful comments come from foreign players. Hoddle, Savage, just awful, Townsend, Rio, seriously?

I really can't understand how they can't take a competent, previously tried team, and why they can't get rid of the almost universally hated guys, Lawrenson, Keown is not good.

Argentina looked pretty stagnant in that first half. Very little movement off the ball. Probably should have scored at least one of the set piece chances.

Unlucky from Iran there. Argies need to step it up a gear, v hard when you have 11 Iranians so deep tho

Iran might not be the best team but you can tell they're putting their heart into playing for their country, our players can't even bothered to sing the national anthem beyond token lip movement.
