FIFA World Cup 2018 - GROUP F [Germany, Mexico, Sweden, Korea Republic - 17/18/23/27 June] **spoiler

Tottenham star Son Heung-Min, who scored the second goal against Germany, apologised to supporters for their performance.

As he spoke to the press, an egg landed at his feet, leaving his teammates aghast and seemingly embarrassed.

But their inability to progress to the last-16 of was inexcusable for some fans who threw eggs at the squad as they posed for pictures and spoke to the media.

Cushions embroidered with British flags were also thrown at the team in an apparent protest at their performance in the tournament.
