FIFA World Cup 2022 Group B ** spoilers ** (England, Iran, USA, Wales)

He does seem to be a bit of s scapegoat, especially for United even though the whole back line was playing poorly. He's a decent defender in some line-ups and a decent threat from corners.
If you'd watched him playing for united this season you'd know he's not being scapegoated for anything....he's just been bloody awful and an absolute liability in the PL.

He's less of a problem against the slow pace and lower quality of the international game, to be fair to Southgate though.

Yes but the one chance Iran had they turned him inside out and scored. Imagine against Argentina or Brazil.

The pace is slower in these group games because of how poor the other confederations are compared to Uefa and Conmebol but once we get to the later stages the tempo will ramp up.

Wales need to change formation or play it wider. USA are playing past the midfield and having it easy.

Doesn’t help that Wales have never been able to handle the pressure/close marking tactic.

Did seem an odd choice for Wales to start with two wingers as their strikers. It'll be interesting to see whether Moore can make a difference, even if just by being a presence up front.
