Wales are truly diabolical and yet I wake up to headlines about England 'stepping up' and showing an 'embarrassment of riches'.

Wales are so bad I don't see how you can draw any meaningful conclusions.

Boom and bust my friend, boom and bust. We are either mustard or awful. Marcus Rashford is apparently back to being incredible despite missing a good chance and generally being quite poor outside of his goals. A better keeper would probably have saved that free kick as well.

Wales offered almost nothing in that game apart from "heart" which it turns out has to also be allied to playing well if you want to get anything from a game.

We were decent enough. Foden 100% should be ahead of Mount. Twice the player.

Southgate needs to figure out the Harry Kane conundrum. Hes been great in our build up play but we should have him on the end of things, not setting them up really. We are lacking the playmaker in the 10 role currently.

He’s not going to play now he’s missed all the group games. Southgate doesn’t change things up so other than maybe if we’re losing 2-0 I can’t see him getting any minutes, which is a shame as he would be great in the team.

To be fair, Mount and Sterling offer more defensively than Foden and Rashford and as soon as we play someone he is worried about we will revert to form. Back 8 and a few players to offer a counter-attacking threat.

He played Walker, who hasn’t played for two months over him. I doubt Trent will start at all unless both Trippier and Walker are injured.

Not a chance. Southgate will be cautious after the group stage and Trent isn't a defender in the tradition of stopping the opposition scoring.
