***FIFA11 PS3 10v10 Club***

Ah FFS - FIFA kills PS3s - mine RSOD only yesterday (and caused my FIFA online pass to corrupt - cause or effect?) and Im sure Skips gave up the ghost when playing the demo

Let me know how it goes - cant believe it as youve been away for a few days too...

I know, I am feeling a bit gutted right about now :( Need to work out how to get the data from it otherwise I lose everything :(

If I can put my HD into another PS3 and put my save files onto a memory stick will they work on a new PS3 or are they locked to the one that created them?

Bad luck Jonny. :(

You got any sort of cover?

Nope, not even a proof of purchase as I got it from my mate who got it 2nd hand in the first place! Planning on selling it for spares along with my psp which i don't use to fund a new slim!

WOW great to see the Club with so many new faces - I decided to leave so it left the defensive line free for the ANY player as its just impossible to be a useful ANY if one of your defenders isnt keeping the line properly...

I think 6+1 (442 form) on at a time is the max we can have - weve never had static defenders and I have to admit I dont like the idea and on Club over the last few years weve been matched with 3/4 clubs with a full 10/11 static players. It would be nice to challenge my thoughts on that, but until we actually have a (very) regular 10 players I dont think its something we need to start reconsidering - unfortunately its apparent that you cant spilt the club over multiple dressing rooms like you could in 10 Club...

Bap - can you remind people the situation with the mic and the fix we are using in here please - think some people didnt get it...

Also to reiterate the whole rotate thing - when you play the next game you move down a position down the position list so for a 442 it would be:
RM > RCM > LCM > LM > RS > LS > RM > etc
Thats dependent on how many people are playing and where the ANY player has setup his VP to sit (normally will be a set as a ball winning/box to box CM) so leave that kinda position free. Simples :D

Ahh bugger thats harsh.

Im afraid Im not the bearer of good news regarding saves - if you move HDD to another PS3 it will just attempt to format it before its usable. My only real suggestion considering you have no warranty or anything is to open it up and see if you can fix the YLOD in the attempt to at least keep it alive enough to backup saves and anything else...

Ultimately I doubt youll be able avoid getting a new PS3 though :(. Skip might have some additional insight and Ive seen some threads on YLOD on here...

Ah bugger... looks like i'm starting from scratch with my vp then :( Just as he was getting good! Last time I backed up was when that date thing broke all the phat ps3s so that they couldn't go online/play games!

Been reading all night, just not confident enough playing with hardware to do most of the fixes suggested. I'm a software/coder, hardware scares me :p

hrmm thats weird - when my ps3 died i got my fifa10 saves from it and loaded em up on my new ps3 and voila my vp was still there.

Not sure about fifa 11 though.

yeah you need mebbe to give it the hairdryer treatment. You only need it to be on for a few minutes. Dont think this one worked for Skippi though. (didnt really work for me but i didnt try it that much - just got mine temp fixed and got the saves that way)

Well its an option - Im not sure how valuable PS3s are as scrap/spares but I would try if its economical too for the same reason and if it doesnt work I presume it still would have similar scrap/spares value. Also try and see if theres a local shop that do YLOD fixes 'cheaply'..

Jonny

Find someone in your area with a reflow oven!

Should only cost you £30 or so from a shop, but post on the forums you might find someone who repairs stuff near you and get it done for cheaper

I'm giving this a rest for a few days, sorry guys but I'm just sick of repeating myself constantly, saying the same things in chat and then nothing getting done about them. I'm not perfect but at least if someone says that I'm doing something wrong I'll try and not do that thing instead of arguing against them. Poly came to me and told me to stop taking the 40 yard specials because they don't work, since then I've barely taken a shot outside of the box, that's just an example of which there are others. I'm not saying I'm perfect but at least I will attempt to make a change to the way I do things if other people think it will help the team whereas some people tonight just did the same thing over and over again despite it not working. Obviously something is wrong with the way we play, how many goals did we score tonight? And how many did we concede? And furthermore, did we even win a game because to be honest I don't actually recall us winning.

Also, if someone says to tell them if there's a problem but then said person acts like a complete **** when you do tell them then what's the point in giving feedback and criticism? I feel I've been constructive I haven't just said "oh you're ****" I've said such and such isn't working, try this instead. Obviously nothing I say is ever taken on board by anybody so I'll just leave you all to it for a few days. I'm not expecting us to be an unbeatable dream team, but I don't think it's too much to ask to be able to string more than two passes together and to stay in your positions.

Got to admit - it was a night of ups and downs - definitely 11 Club takes far more out of you than 10 Club did - you just cant be on auto-pilot as a poor pass means one less chance and when you arent making many it does frustrate.

Think Im being doing shorter stints to keep fresh. I stunk one whole game out as RM - did nothing right and not got one bloody excuse...

Was nice to see new blood though I have to admit it made it more maniac just having loads of people on and try and get something working together. So I think we will work on that just to give people a fairer chance and give the whole team at least some ability to play and win. Be good to get some honest appraisals from those guys - we arent the best, but we are passionate and expect people to play for the team and not for themselves...

And HTK - just a public apology, I did only just see your message and with the busy night I missed it but will get you into some Club action. I just need to work out a fairer way to make it fun for all rather than a free for all...

P.S. Welcome back Skip :D...

Are you referring to me as I responded well to your comments after the first game as CM. In the second game I hung back a lot more and broke up their play with standing and slide tackles on several occasions. Obviously people like myself are new to club and there is a learning curve. The comms situation doesn't help either.
On another general note I noticed a lot of the strikers we were up against were either small and quick or very tall. Perhaps something we should look into if we're playing 442?

As you said Jojo you are new so our expectations are low (you know what I mean) so have nothing to worry about (yet :p). Did you find any of my comms helpful at all? Do I just chat and say 'good pass' a lot?
