Final Fantasy VII

I know there are a few on here that played this game, Ive picked it back up again after playing it non stop when it came out.

This game is still IMO the best game ever made, yeah the graphics are looking very dated now but the immense story line and the staggering amount of side quests and the music!!!

I'm playing through again, and I'm now up to the Icicle Village just after Aeris dies

(that scene in its self is so moving for a game)

So if you've still got it, fire it back up. You won't be disappointed.

I really hope they remake this game for the PS3.

They are. They won't say it, but they drop hints like a teen drops balls.

And yes, VII is probably the best game ever made.

The bit where you're held upside down (squashed like a tomatoe!) reminds me of Lucasarts/Sierra games...GROSSNESS! :-D

I could never stick at FF7. I never really got into it for some reason but 8 really had me hooked.
I've still got the game so I might fire it up again to see if it can grab my attention the second time around.

I've always said they will remake VII on PS3, there is no way they put all that effort into the tech demo for nothing, I still stand by this.

I felt the opposite, FF8 just lacked something. Never GFX on the characters, but more girly story..

They are sitting on one of the biggest Gold mines of gaming history surely??

All the precursors to VII, as well as the ending of Crisis Core points to one thing, and we all know what that is. There is a reason XIII is taking so long.

I would be over the moon if they did, I never did finish VII and a remake would give me a very good reason to.

I've got fifty pence right here that says they ruin Cloud by giving him a crappy voice actor, ruin the storyline by adding/removing bits and ruin the gameplay... somehow.

They need to leave it just as it is, just get it up and running on tech demo engine, and fix the sometimes annoying battle system, but don't touch the story, and don't go anywhere near the music!

yep thats the only thing they need to do, I hope they leave it on screen text style rather then get voice actors in.

go on you tube and listen to the orchestrated versions from FF7, they're awesome

Would people be happy if they changed certain statistics?

For example, Increases HP/MP, Increased Difficulty.

or perhaps, Give the user an option at the beginning of Classic and Expert?

Expert being Uber difficult

How did I not know about that crisis core ending!!! If they announce ff7 remake then I'll walk down to the shops and get a ps3 immediately!

they could make sephiroth a bit harder to beat at the end I suppose, but first time round most of the bosses were difficult for me, once you understand totally the concept of materia and the way it affects amour and weapons it makes things a lot easier

for example the Materia keeper in Nibelhiem mountains and Demons Gate at the Temple of the Ancients were really hard to beat first time round.

and I think the main reason for me not getting into ff8 was the materia system in ff7 was a million times better and more interesting

The best system in any of the final fantasies, Hell, best in any RPG.

I loved it, Growing the materia, Giving birth to new materia, Teaming the materia. Simple, But without a doubt the most effective system.
