I dont mean to derail the thread, but are there any good FF titles for the PC available at the moment? I enjoyed FF7 and 8, but havent played any others (and not the online one, i heard it was pants). I dont have a PS2 so I know that will rule out quite a few titles.

Unfortunately it rules out every other FF game (legally anyway). Only 7, 8 and 11 have been released on PC. The others are NES, SNES and PS/PS2 only. But it would probably be worth buying an old PS1, that way you can get 1,2,4,5,6,7,8 and 9. Would be quite cheap these days.

- that is how i played FF7 when i borrowed it from a mate. Should i give 9 a try then?

You'd think it would be cheap but all of the PlayStation games go for a lot of money these days - £20+ often.

not in gamestation, they have a 2 for 1 deal on all psx games, most from £5-£10. but FF7 was £25.. but u could have got FF8 FREE..;.

FF8 is well worth getting mate, ebay for it. it is the 2nd best to 7 imo.

Yes it's good if you aren't put off by the whimsical style. Also 6 is worth a go even for people that aren't big FF fans. Many people say it's the best (I disagree but I think it's close).

I wouldn't bother with 6 on the PSOne, it's a bit of crap port and there are annoying load times.

Well there's no other way to play it except getting a snes and importing an old copy. It would be a shame to miss out on such a good game because of slightly annoying load times.

i think its ingame cause it does look believable and if you look when she hits the enemies you can see the damage hps above the enemies.

I think it's coming out on the GBA soon?

Oh yeah, forgot about that. That would probably be a better version since presumably it uses the new translation (the original was quite poor) and probably has better performance than the PS1 version.

Can't wait for 3 on the DS, I just hope it's true to the original (apart from the graphics).
