Finally got caught :(

I can't even work out why they have that strip of road going through the centre of the roundabout tbh! Close that section and stop making it a stupid complex roundabout and just turn it into an ordinary one. By doing that you would also lower the number of roads a pedestrian has to cross making it a safer all around. I also wonder how many people end up going straight and leaving their arse end out on a live roundabout if the traffic lights go off. It seems very odd to me.

?

I still, after many years, do not understand why people feel the need to post this stuff on the internet?

Perhaps because this particular part of the internet is called a discussion forum?

A discussion forum related to motor vehicles and driving?

How much does having points make insurance go up? i pressume it depends on what the offence was.
So the most expensive being no insurance and speeding.

I just did a quote and adding the TS14 bumps the premium up by around 80 notes with LV :( So much for the officers comments re not affecting insurance as 3 points are common these days :(

No, it's one offence, the offence of causing or permitting a TS10.

Tbh, I'm not sure why they've given you a TS14 and not a TS10, as simply put what you did easily falls under "Failing To Comply With Traffic Light Signals" (and/or road signs?) but I'm not a traffic cop nor a lawyer. :)

There are loads of lights and stops when going round the roundabout, thinking back on it, does seem hardly worth it, must have saved me all of 2 minutes each time I did this, so I ended up getting into work 2 minutes early. What was I thinking?

2mins over 7 years works out at roughly 58hrs,based on a 5 day week,so definitely worth it.

What a joke that is - the punishment I mean. OK maybe £30 and leave it at that but 3 points for turning right when you shouldn't have? It's a total joke that.

When driving in unfamiliar territory it's so easy to take a quick turn under pressure while trying to read road signs for example. How they can justify that is beyond me. What is the danger anyway?

wow that is a lazy manoeuvre on your side, does it even save you much time? As for informing the DVLA of any medication that you take which states to not opperate machinery after taking... you 100% sure on that? As a lot of medication will state that, like piriton (chlorphenamine) etc and I know for sure that I dont go ringing the DVLA everytime I decide to take one of them.

Certain medical conditions which you are on medication for like diabetes need to be reported or say epilepsy

I always look around first when doing such things, where was he waiting.
Only reason its not a right turn is because its a right angle and most would slow down to make it and slow the traffic behind them I presume

I always look but the copper was sitting on his bike on the small triangle at the far end of the stretch of road I illegally turned into. As I made the turn I saw him but then it was too late.

In the small section ahead there was a council lorry parked which completely obstructed my view of the cop and presumably his view of me and for a fleeting mad moment I actually had this mad thought about reversing back out onto the roundabout and making a run for it :D

I know this roundabout well, and yes - making a right turn there is a daft thing to do - however it doesn't seem to stop half the Slough population doing it - mind you, most of them don't stop on red lights either.

Doesn't seem the worst thing to do in the world. I could understand the no right turn making sense if traffic is backed up though.
