Finally my TEC is up and running.

The GFX was never being TEC'd, and i had to take it off the water loop due to producing to much heat.

Anyway, with my water cooling back on, using the Storm G4 its idling at ambient temps. around 32- 34c and load its just touching 38 -39c
The best thing is, ITS THE SAME OVERCLOCK AS WITH THE TEC!!! imho the TEC was a waste of money and has gained no further speed or stability.
So to answer you question, It started out being fun. You know trying somthing youve never done before. then it became pointless and frustrating.

Maybe in the future probably early next year due to getting new house i will set up phase change that will "do the job properly"

Morale of story: depending on the chip you will get no better result in chilling it down. i guess each chip is different. Im glad i had this 3800x2 in my shop just sitting there for 6months. got a goodun.

Yeah - sadly the cost/Mhz tends to be hugely increased as you increase through the cooling methods - Don't be put off though - TEC's for the Processor aren't brilliant, but on the GFX card you should notice a marked improvement as you can ramp up the core voltage - I gained an extra 10% using a 172W TEC on mine and it's never given me grief (Had one on my 6800LE and now on my x800 GTO2)

They're far easier and more rewarding than the CPU ones! - And less effort for the PSU to cope with! I run mine straight off my 520W psu with no snags!

What GFX card have you got in there - I noticed that you've got a full cooler on there (covers the RAM as well) - which is unfortunately unsuitable for TEC setups :( - Love those Hong Kong psu's though - using one myself - but you really will need a bigger PSU if you're planning to run the GFX 172W pelt straight off your main PSU (will cut down on the outrageous noise that the 'Meanwell-san' makes!)
