EE are doing 1.6Gbps
But it’s very expensive
£70 a month

I find with my 900Mbps service the download speed drops from 112MB/s to around 40MB/s and then back up again, I don’t know if it’s my ISP or everybody’s is like that and it’s the EA App.EE are doing 1.6Gbps

They drill the CSP on the outsideGoing back to the previous post
Regarding damage
And drilling
Plusnet small print specifically says
We'll drill through your wall from the outside of your property so we can connect the Full Fibre boxes and cables.
so not drill from inside?
Or will the engineer just do whatever
regardless of that small print?
Edit
Can't get the copy and paste in same font colour
The download I did on my Xbox this afternoon did dip a few times, but wasn't nearly as bad as the dips on my old Virgin connection.I find with my 900Mbps service the download speed drops from 112MB/s to around 40MB/s and then back up again, I don’t know if it’s my ISP or everybody’s is like that and it’s the EA App.
The good thing about having a 1.6Gbps service is it would boost to 200MB/s then drop down and back up again, meaning faster average speeds.
Mines definitely undergroundSo they are basically just saying
They will drill a hole to fit
They drill the CSP on the outside
Then bring the cable closer to where you want it
Do you know if your done by underground or overhead wiring?
No worriesMines definitely underground
Box has already been fitted on outside wall
Yeah am still hopefulNo worries
So your install will be like mine
(The installer would put the ONT where you want, within reason)
Don't worry, I think I just got unlucky
with a poor subcontractor
Fingers crossed for youYeah am still hopeful
They will tack it around the skirting
To other side of the room
Though would have to move tv and sofa
I will play heavily on the fact I can't physically
Tack an ethernet around myself lol
Rough guess 10m would do itFingers crossed for you
Hopefully it's not too far
Completely get that you can't
I'm the same
EE do 1.6 I think but it’s very expensive.Nice came home today
And fttp checker shows mine has gone live
Plusnet shows up to 900Mbs
Though openreach says up to 1800Mbs
I guess not many companies yet are doing 1 Gbs or higher
On openreach network
Nice to know it could get faster in the future though
Plusnet price for 500Mbs is basically what I am paying them
For 38Mbs give or take 2 quid
Would be nice must admitEE do 1.6 I think but it’s very expensive.
was that after you contacted them?Just to let you know
So you aren’t worried about your install @Mcnumpty2323
They are coming on Friday to fix the damage
Engineer today was disgusted when he saw the install
The cable should have also been white
Which makes sense, given the walls are white
I think they are just talking practicalities of drilling from the outside to avoid blowing out the edge of a brick ..We'll drill through your wall from the outside of your property so we can connect the Full Fibre boxes and cables.
so not drill from inside?
That's how Openreach appointments work. You can ask but I can't see you getting a more precise estimate than that.equally I want more precision than we will arrive between 0800&1300 too - I'm not spending a day on this, plus need to clear space for them to work.
