Finch / Funeral For A Friend - Bands like these?

Brand new have a couple of tracks that verge on the FFAF / Finch sound but overall are nothing like them.

FFAF and Finch as far as I have heard are the best in the genre, the balance of melody and rawness has never been quite matched by similar bands.

Few good recommendations chaps, definatly some that I'll be looking into. To add a few that I didn't see mentioned:

36 Crazyfists - Bitterness the Star, little heavier than Funeral for a friend but a brilliant album.

Spineshank - The Height of Callousness, well worth getting.

Ataris, I've got one album on my ipod and it's decent but I don't know for the life of me what it's called! closest to Funeral for a Friend out of the 3 above (but also the worst)

Same fan base which would suggest they are
Someone reads SA ;)

I can't add anything to this, people are jumping too much on classification and I don't like it so I'm going to swing my foot out and recommend some totally different bands: Anberlin, Minus the Bear, A farewell to Arms and Say Anything, so there :p

Can't see that any of these have been mentioned yet.

Dead Poetic
Million Dead
Hidden In Plain View

Pretty similar.

I'm not sure I'd put Million Dead in there, much more on the hardcore side... Think it's another case of shared fanbase but not neccesarily similiar, maybe. Utter genius, mind... Frank's out on tour again at the moment, I think, we saw him last week in Edinburgh and it was a fantastic show.

I'm going to recommend IT PREVAILS. Because they are awesome and I think a fair few people following this thread will like them.

Also, yeah I am a goon :p

Done some digging around last 24 hours and I suggest the album New Medicines by Dead Poetic is probably the closest thing I have heard so far.
