Firefly/Serenity?

Interesting fact. I went to see Serenity at my local Vue when it first came out, and had the entire auditorium to myself. Says it all really, unfortunately.

Up to episode 9. I have a feeling that this is going to end long before I want it to :(

Yeah that happens.

Wait for the episode with Tracey (you'll know what i mean). Notice how all the music is sad and funereal. That's the episode they filmed right after finding out the show was canned. It's completely different to the rest of the episodes.

I loved the Objects in space episode, Jubal Early is a legend :D. Cant believe this episode wasn't even aired :(.

Serenity the film is a must watch one of my favourite films. But Firelfy the series is very average at best. The only thing the series was good for was setting the background for the film.

I actually think the opposite. Firefly is one of the best TV series I've ever seen, and Serenity is just an average film without seeing Firefly first.

... i dont think of myself as a lion...

Haha, yeah that was a funny scene.

You may as well, though: I have a
mighty roar.

SIMON
I said "Alliance".

EARLY
Oh. I thought --

SIMON
No, I was...

EARLY
That's weird.

Also lol'd at the troublesome midget who liked to start fires :D.

That whole episode was great, i cant believe it didn't even get aired. People in the US just seem to want to watch crappy reality TV shows that cost naff all to make and get like 15 million viewers . So decent shows like this just get ignored and put on Fridays to die off. That seem right to you?

My understanding is that the whole initial premise was "cowboys in space". Trouble, I think Whedon thought he was being original. Actually the idea is so old-hat that a man named H L Gold wrote an editorial criticising it. In 1950.

Whedon didn't think it was original, any more than he thought vampires were new and exciting... His schtick's always to take a basically old idea and rebuild it. Or, heh, revamp it. Sorry.

It was no more original than save the princess in Star Wars.

It does irritate me how Big Brother etc gets aired year after year and yet something that involves so much more than merely pointing a camera and hoping for the best gets binned.
