First Build! :D

Oh the joys of a first build...how nervous I was installing my 256mb of ram and my 128mb graphics card!

So i have an update have bought a case but it's not a coolermaster, some of you will probably say why have you brought that etc, and the main reason Money!

They wanted £45 for the elite 430 and just for a fan at the front that lights up blue and a windowed side cover and bottom mounted psu and tooless design it's a lot.

So i have got the envizage 710b case, it can hold upto x4 120mm fans same size spec as the elite 430 if abit bigger by a couple of mm. It has a fan speed controler for 4 pin fans, and has a filters like the elite 430.

It is top mounted psu which i prefer tbh, Has tooless design and is black inside.

Im after a cooler master pro rev2 at the moment for the cpu.

Not yet found the cpu yet or the psu as im waiting to get everything then decide on what wattage psu to get :D

Or the gpu but what about a bfg gtx260 or something similar of the BFG range???

I like that case.

gtx260 comes in 2 variants, 192 & 216 core, but both are more powerfull than the 8800/9800 series cards suggested earlier.

I think you should get the CPU sorted first and see how much cash you have left for a graphics card.

Yeah it looks good the case.

I still can't find a q6600 for about £35 with postage, don't suppose anyone knows any other models that will work with my system.

Wanting a 6mb - 8mb cache intel cpu a quad core would be good anyother models that you have experience with??? as on previous post my board will accept any intel cpu Lga 775 sockets

Is 35 still your max for a cpu?

The cheapest Q6600's i can find are about 60 quid,I'll keep looking for you though,If anything comes up i'll let you no.

Have you tried pricing up the dual cores?

E8*00/E7*00 There are lots of different ones though. The high end ones may even be more expensive than the Q6600.

So i have received my case :D So you can have some pics :D

The case CIT STORM 710B £25 Inc p&p :D

fitted 2 fans and the I.o shield i think it is??

You can fit five fans in total to the case.

I have fitted a 7.5 inch fan at the front (190mm) was hoping to get a led one but while i have it, saves me buying another :D

The fan on the front should be sucking air in,So turn it around :) And for the CPU cooler I would go with a corsair A50,It's in your price range and is a quality cooler,O and goodluck with the quad mate.

looks good, glad its starting to take shape for you.

I like the idea of fans on the underneath, depending on where the case is. I can imagine its not the best mounting place if on the floor as a dust vacuum.

Generally speaking the air blows in the direction of the label, (if it doesn't say on the fan), so if you look at the label air would be blowing on you.

in from the front and out the back, in low out high, generally.

edit. If you decide to purchase a new fan, then I would recommend going for a larger one say over 2 small ones, as a larger one will move more air and wont have to run as fast making it quieter.

although if the temps are fine and it doesn't sound like a jet then the ones you have will be fine :p
