First month on BT - Usage warning.

Yes they will, BT can't withhold the MAC code as per Ofcom rules and regs, I would tell BT where to go.

I just can't believe they expect me to pay full price whilst being limited to 1MBPs. IMO it's disgusting.

I can't even be bothered to call them because I know what BT Customer Service will be like. I might just get Sky in and hope they don't ask for a MAC code.

It doesn't work like that.
Sky will see that you already have a service on the line and request a MAC code.
You cannot just "swap" providers.

You signed up to at least a 12 month contract - so you will need to pay an early leave termination fee.

Hmm, it's gone past 5PM and I should be limited to 1MBPs. Although I'm still connecting at 12MB. Maybe it takes a few days.

I got out of BT for Sky by keeping an eye on their t's and c's. Got an email from them saying they were making a few changes so I wrote to them saying I didn't agree with the changes and would be cancelling my contract with immediate effect. Never even got a reply.

I'm surprised I just can't go to Sky and ask them to switch me over...

One thing I can't understand is, would BT just not allow Sky to do it because I'm contracted?

I with BT option 3 and i feel you pain with the 100GB rubbish,i also had a email warning i have dl 80gb the other day.

I havent dl anything after the email and i need to install AION updates which is around 5-7GB so im waiting till the 1st next month which is highly annoying.

Apart from that i havent got a bad word to say about my connection with BT,its been excellent.

I do know from my past experiences with BT it will be nearly impossible to get out of the contract with them, unless you pay for the remaining months you have left.

Offcom or some offical body needs to sort out ISPs false advertising as its clearly cheating the customer and is simply not fair

Unlimited should mean "Unlimited" and not hide a Fair Use Policy in terms and conditions.

I do agree, my connection stability has been superb with BT. The 100GB cap is such a joke though, considering there's other people in my house who use the internet just as much as I do.

Oh and when I got the 80GB Warning email, 2 days later I got the 100GB email and I hadn't downloaded a single thing since the 80GB email.

I'm not sure how I did 20GB in 2 days tbh.

They still haven't restricted my line yet though. Still downloading at full speeds.

To save you ringing up BT and speaking to a india call centre i recommend you use the forums BT are superb at sorting issues/problems out i can vouch for that!.

Create a thread and title it Need to speak to a Mod,you will definitely get a response and you can then discuss your concerns with them.

They will ask for your BT account Number etc just to confirm your identity give it a shot cant hurt trying mate.

Yeah, looking at the BT forums aswell many people are getting hit with the 100GB FUP.

I haven't been with BT for a month yet, it's been 24 days. If only there cooling off period was 30 days.

So with an active FUP, am I still allowed to download and use my connection as normal? Or could BT disconnect me if I go over the FUP again?

I have no advice to offer other than to echo that if you are downloading heavy amounts/streaming tv/gaming on that line you might want to rethink your ISP.

I mainly posted here to lol at the fact that you had to download "all your steam games" several times to make up your 80gb limit. :D

Hit my 100gig limit on Saturday, have come back from work and connection is still at 12MB.

Maybe they have forgotten about me? It's nearly 6pm.

Want to see if logging in to VrprVPN will bypass the speed restriction.

Your connection speed as on the router/modem won't change - but throughput will drop... with the latest throttling setup they use VPNs won't bypass it.

Bt told me 40gb pm down for 18 quid, or 60 for 40 quid. Woman was useless though, had to ask her manager for both figures. Didnt know what 'upload limit' was either.

In a roundabout way im asking for a source please :)
