thought I'd look into it a bit more and came across thisMe too, freezer 36 should handle it easily, though it is out of stock.
now from quick look, if gaming not a problem. freezer 36 will easily cope. it's when he used it for productivity, he was close to thermally throttling with the single toer 120mm cooler...so in theory it should be fine as the freezer 36 performs really well against other 120mm single tower cooler, esp as it has 2 fans on it. He recommends 240mm aio min, preferably 360mm or a good twin tower cooler(but again if mainly doing productivity)
really want to try the 9800x3d in my rig now, seeing as 7800x3d ive got runs fine with a a35 arctic air cooler, and the freezer 36 is better...which i have but still haven't got round to trying out yet
and yet here below the freezer 36 cools the same wattage as the arctic freezer 3 240mm aio of 219W (14700k with no power limits, which is way more than the 9800x3d which peaks at 151w, way less than the 14700k

you know what, I still think freezer 36 more than competent to handle a 9800x3d....if anyone wants to loan me one, I'll test it
