Hi,

Currently taking lessons and have had about 25hours now of lessons and went on the dualcarrageway for the first time and core I nearly killed the corsa!
It felt kinda weird first but once I was on there for a bit I got use to it. Steering became more sensitive with speed although my nerves did get the better of me when big lorrys were overtaking me on the side and some cutting me up!

any just had to brag about it!

bring on april 3rd when I got me test!

I am guessing it was NSL? If so how were lorrys overtaking you?

I remember going on it for the first time. Was strange i was doing the speed limit and was catching up a few cars so admittedly i slowed down as i closed it. So my instructor told me off and to pass them, so i did. :D It was fun joining one on a short join as you are allowed to power it more. :p

I loved overtaking people on my lessons, was even funnier when you do it on country lanes, you just think owned!

Did you find some people tried to stop you overtaking as it was a learner? Well accually thinking about it, it would be the worst thing being overtaken by a learner. :D Also helps when you drive a car that can overtake. (136bhp HDi 307)

Haha, my driving instructor in swansea (he was crap) took me on the dual carriage way on lesson 3 - he was like "into 5th chris" I was like 5TH? WTF! how do I do that then *rev* :)
On my first lesson I was taken onto a Dual Carriageway.

Dad had taught me a few basics in the Micra which only has four gears.

My instuctor said up to 5th and I kinda mashed reverse.

I would have loved to of seen driver's face behind when the revers lights came on! hehe!

I've no idea how you can light up the reverse lights when the car is moving forwards.

Most modern cars just plain lock you out of reverse -you can't get the stick anywhere near reverse when forward speed is > xx mph.

Normally the reverse light doesn't come on untill the gearstick is actually in the reverse position. Nozzer - is yours still the RX8? If so - does it actually let you slot into the reverse position whilst moving forwards?

I've never even driven an RX8, let alone owned one :)

I have no idea if my Audi will let me get the gearstick far enough into reverse to light the reverse lights, I've never tried it.

I have really, the only reason I don't know is because you can't tell when you're doing 85 up the M1

I didn't overtake anyone yet tho, I was on the A12 going towards gallows corner .
I enjoyed ever minute of todays lesson!

ooo that Gallows Corner is an evil round about, I still don't like going round it even after 2 years of driving lol

Na I don't think people who do 30-40 down an NSL country lane have the bottle to put their foot down lol

Yes! I was told to overtake a van/flatbed and he started speeding up as we were alongside of him/in the oncoming lane.

My favourite stretch of road is about half a mile of uphill with a crawler lane (Beamish up to Stanley for anyone who knows Co. Durham) and gunning it with cars trying to pass just because you're in a learner car. I remember being told by that I wasn't giving the cars attempting to pass a chance and snapping back that they shouldn't be trying to overtake if they can't manage it :D.
