First Water Project: The Mad Titan

Looking good so far, I am also tempted to paint my Dominator Ram black however part of me thinks it would be a bit too plain. Tempted to paint the dominator logo white on black ram, that should look good, but would take a while to do well.

Bitspower full block and 6950X installed, plus i managed to retain the Mystic Light RGB LED's too! :)

Small update:

Today I flushed the rads and, weirdly found that the 280 and 560 EK CoolStream CE's had barely anything to flush out, but the 480 SE had LOADS, and I mean 6-8 flushes and there was still crap coming out! Odd!

Also today my first custom part arrived, the light box! :-)

Cheers :)

Quick update: my 1080's have shipped, will be here Monday!

I have received the first custom component - the light box, which is now going under the knife again to make it a little more custom! I have also just ordered the final two pieces of custom acrylic, and am confident that they will look awesome!

Just waiting for the EK gpu blocks to be released and then I'm all good!

I will be designing the custom loops tomorrow and will post my design for feedback! Thank you! :)

Cheers :)

FEEDBACK PLEASE!

Ok, as this is my first WC build, I would really like some feedback on my childrens Crayola design below - could I do this any better? The pipework will be tidied up obviously!

Also, should I go full PETG for the unseen pipework, or will it hurt me later when flushing or performing maintenance on fans/pumps in the lower portion of the case etc etc?

Cheers guys :)

My understanding - which could be wrong - is that PETG is easier to work with but starts to look dull much quicker than acrylic. Also, it doesn't like coolants with ethylene glycol in.

Whether you go hardline on the bits that cannot be seen is down to a few things:
Your sense of perfectionism vs laziness.
Whether hardline works better - soft is much easier to run but depending how much space, angles etc, hardline won't collapse so you know the tubing won't get blocked.

I'm guessing that some of the untidiness is down to representing a 3D system on paper but would it help if you went unconventional and didn't go res to pump? If you connected a rad - especially the vertical mounted 280 - to the inlet of the pump, it's essentially a res anyway. Just a thought.

I think I will be causing myself grief, when I potentially don't need to - especially given how much this will likely get upgraded or changed... I will just take it easy with the bending of the soft tube, to make sure there is no issue of blocking etc.

I am using Mayhems Pastels, so I should be ok as ethylene glycol is not part of the formula.

If the PETG goes well, and it does indeed go dull, I will feel more confident upgrading to acrylic - at least then i will have one WC build under my belt! :)

I will have a look at your suggestion of the 280, I had never thought of the rad acting as a smaller res before - thanks! :)

Cheers mate, much appreciated! :)

Just stuck one in for size!

I am now testing all three in my existing rig.

Cheers :)

Very nice. Very jealous!

Sometimes a little lunacy is a good thing :D A rad's not a great substitute because it doesn't let the air bubble out, act as an expansion space, hold reserve or show you when it's getting low but you've got a res in the system to do that. It does mean you have a ready supply of coolant to feed the pump with though - more the vertical one because gravity will assist when you have a column of coolant. That said, I've seen horizontally mounted tube res's so it should work if necessary with the horizontal rads.

I agree! Lunacy is a life choice...! :) I will give that a try, cheers mate :)

Watching this with tremendous interest!

Thank you! :) Cheers!

What colour coolant are you using? Has anyone tried the silver yet? If it's anyone good I think it'd be a nice change to plain ol' black.

The silver is not, i don't believe, for every day use - its a show coolant i think?
I am using the Black, Yellow and Purple colour scheme - maybe with a little silver thrown in...

Cheers! :)
