First Water Project: The Mad Titan

As someone who will hopefully be doing a very similar build in August, it's actually interesting to see the level of detail you're going to, to get it right, like how you have mounted the resevoirs etc (I'd be nervous taking a drill to my case personally).

Can't wait to see more pictures!

Oh My God... LOVE IT!!!

Cheers! :)

I am trying to build the best I can, exactly as I want it - sometimes my impatience gets the better of me, but hopefully not to the detriment of the build!
Drilling the case was scary, and I actually did mess the first hole up(!) but thankfully you can't see it!

Still a bit to do, but hopefully I will have more pictures up soon!

I wish you the best of luck for your build! :)

Cheers mate :)

No expense spared. Jesus.

Can I ask why you opted for 3 1080's rather than 2?

Sure, I was going to get four! :) Seriously though its a benchmark thing, plus i have never had a three way before! :D
We all know the deal with Nvidia and 3-4 way setups now and lets face it, even with two way SLI we are going to have to wait for the drivers to catch up to really make use of it in gaming.

looking good so far... the 3 1080's are beaut!

Thanks man, the hard bit is the pipework - which is tough!! :)

Cheers :)

Thats a stealthy looking build. Very tidy Res mounting :) I bet you picked up the level a dozen times before actually drilling those holes :D.

Hurry and get it finished, I want to see more pics :D

SOOOO many times!! Nightmare! ;) I am hoping to get the EK blocks ordered tomorrow and then i can start the tubing! :D

Looks awesome dude! very tidy/stealthy looking!

That case is definately on the list for my next build. HUUUGE! :p

Look forward to seeing this fully completed.

Thanks mate, very much appreciated! :)

I love the SMA8, it is a dream to work in! Plus it can be made to look awesome - I hope I pull it off!

Cheers :D

Quick update!

Here is what 3 x 1080's look like mounted as close as possible! I wanted to see if they would actually mount like this as the rear plate sticks out a little and I thought it might not be possible at all...

I am obviously not turning this on, for fear that it may turn my den into an inferno. However I will be putting all of the cards underwater, and in this slot configuration, as soon as EK release their full block...

QW8Rs8Wl.jpg

I made a small mathematical error on the flex bay configuration - I am mounting a 280 rad at the top (as you can see in this picture) and wanted an exhaust fan at the bottom of the flex bay sitting along side my Aquaero; however there is about 5 mm overlap between the 560 rad in the bottom, my custom light box and the 320 flex bay fan/rad mount. Hey ho. I just need to wait for the 280 flex mount to come in from Caselabs, do away with the front 140mm vardar and carry on!

I have started the pipe work and I have decided that I will complete both loops with PETG, I will however use fittings for the bends - this will allow me to better measure the bendwork that I am ultimately going to do.

I also decided that I will go flex pipework in the bottom, as there is just not enough room (yes, you heard me right!) to have a properly controlled hardline install in there and viably maintain my components etc.

Cheers! :)

I will ask this in the Aquaero thread... but i will ask here too...

I have the Aquaero 6 XT and 15 fans a mixture of EK F4-120ER (2200 rpm fans) and EK F3-140ER (2000 rpm fans) and I am also using the following ModMyTools PWM splitter:

1397740-3.jpg

I am using three of the FAN PWM connectors on the Aquaero, the third (with just PWM extension attached - not MOdMyToys splitter) works fine. The other two do not. I get huge fluctuations in RPM - 0 to 300 odd - 1800 - 200 0dd - any ideas why this is happening?

Also I dont seem to be able to control the RPM of any of the fan headers...

Cheers :)

I genuinely am in love with this build! Massively overkill and I thought this forum was against posting adult material haha :D

Honestly can't wait for more updates to this :) subbed!

Thanks mate, I really appreciate it! :)

More pornographic material to follow!

Hopefully I will finish the custom stuff properly and it will look as good as I hope! :)

Cheers! :)

Just a quick update - I am just waiting for the EK 1080 MSI Full Cover Blocks to be released... Then I shall post up more pictures of the build!

So far I am learning to bend the PETG tubing, with mixed results! :)

Cheers guys

Hope they don't take too long to arrive, looking forward to seeing this one completed. I feel your frustration waiting for parts, still waiting for my Asus Strix 1080's to arrive too, dread to think how long the blocks will be after the cards turn up, ordered over a month ago...

looks great m8.

Looks like the MSI 1080 Gaming is the perfect length for the Godlike motherboard, not sure if it was an accident but that i really really dig. I love straight even lines and it compliments the SMA8.

Will look awesome with blocks fitted.

p.s. I too am waiting a MSI block, but mine is for the poor man's 1070  (same pcb)

Me too mate! The MSI blocks are supposed to be out this month.... its getting very close so we shall see! I am now only waiting for one custom cut to be completed.. I messed the first one up... my sleeved cables, full blocks and a couple of bitspower fittings... then I am all good! :) :)

The STRIX blocks have been released for preorder :) - https://www.ekwb.com/news/ek-releases-asus-gtx-1080-strix-full-cover-water-block/

Thanks dude, it is definitely a passion project this one! :)
I matched the cards and the boards only after I saw the backplate and then pulled the trigger on preorder day! I didn't know the length would be so perfect though!

I am really hoping this all comes together soon! :)

Thanks for all the support! :)
Cheers

MSI 1080 full cover blocks released and ordered! :)

However, this is a dissapointment:

MSI® GeForce® GTX 1080 GAMING X 8G factory backplate is not compatible with this water block!

New NVIDIA® SLI HB bridges are not compatible with this water block. You can still use regular SLI bridge that comes with every SLI supported motherboard.

Looks like I will need to customize the HB bridge when it arrives then! :D

Cheers

Dude... EK-FC1080 GTX TF6 is also compatible with MSI® GeForce® GTX 1070 GAMING X 8G. Just in case you hadnt seen it! :)
