Fishing - Anybody doing any ?

Anybody out in a boat sea fishing yesterday/today? lol
Me and a mate thinking of booking a trip out of Whilby in the New year, once this storm blows away :-)

Did some beach fishing yesterday as we had a bit of sunshine although still cold . 3 pouting an undersize cod and a surprise bass which is unheard of this time of year on the east coast . Some big rays have been caught from the same mark over the last month and looking to try for them over the weekend weather permitting

I am getting the fishing 'itch' again.
Sea for me at this time of year, before the coarse season in the warmer weather.
Need to get my arse into gear and book a trip out of Whitby tbh.....need to fill the freezer lol

Fished a match on saturday. Drew a terrible peg, right in the wind on the coldest side of the pond. 27lb won the match and I weighed in 1lb 10Oz. If I weren't in a team I'd have packed up. Rubbish!!

Awful when that happens, I have not match fished for years.
Sometimes miss the banter but don't miss the bad days when a terrible peg is drawn.
Fair play for sticking it out for the team.

Fished a day ticket water yesterday. Very hard fishing, I caught a solitary roach. It was nice sitting in the sunshine though.

One guy on a pole was regularly catching small silvers.

My son is mega keen on fishing and we are going to Kielder on Thursday so going to get a day fishing permit. He has some fishing gear but it works out the same price to buy an adult permit as he can fish for free on that ticket so makes sense for us both to fish, however I don't have any fishing gear. Is there anything on Amazon that I can pick up? There are no local tackle shops close to me so Amazon is probably my only option.

Thanks.

Edit - its not fly fishing, is it called coarse fishing?

a big eel i obviously let it go but wow, caught it on a penn battle 3 8000 size reel and a penn tidal rod, from quite a distance:)

im really in love with fishing at the moment earlier i had a 14 foot beach caster and a abu reel 7000 size multiplier earlier along side my smallest rod and reel the wee ugly stick 6 foot with stock ten pound mono and reel, ironcially it was the wee tiny one that caught 2 sprats which i used as bait for my big one lol

helped a guy and his lad out earlier, the dad aproached me and asked if i could help his son cast a spinning rod and reel :)

i had noticed them struggling to cast and thouht maybe their after the sprats so i thought nothing more until the dad aproached gave them a tutorial as well as i could and gave them a better lure to keep as well as their spinning rod was super stiff and had a light lure on it :)

earlier i had a mackie on my float but the hook never connected :(

damn u fishy :D
