no one getting the same problem as me with escape not working during a race when using my wheel. Cant bring up pause menu when using wheel so i cant restart a race or retire from a race. Have to finish it no matter how bad im doing which is annoying!

Not a suitable solution, I want the game to play the music, not externally. I don't want to have a game listening to a song, win the game and have the song continuing to play after... just not good lol.

I suppose I could rename my custom tracks to the names of the original tracks, that would work but I like the original tracks too :(
 
I just got the game today. The graphics are a lot nicer than FO2, but i seem to be getting the same problem as most people with the frame rate dropping to 30 then back to 60 which is pretty annoying. Without AA and max AF it runs 60fps constantly. I'm running the game at 1920x1200. Probably just a driver problem or the game needing patched. Overall i wouldn't say the game is a huge improvement over FO2, but a nice addition to the series.

Just a quick question, does anyone get the a thin line around the border of their screen with AA enabled??? i always got it in the past FO games whenever i used AA using either a nvidia or ATi card.. Just wondering if other people get it.

how about you setup your media player with global keyboard shortcuts so you can skip tracks/mute/whatever from within the game?

Nope, that's just not good. What i've done is backed up the original songs and replaced them with my own songs. They work fine in game but it still reads the name of the song as the originals which is bad but only minor so doesn't matter.
 
can someone who is using a steering wheel please confirm that pressing escape on the keyboard during a race brings up the in game menu for them cos for me its now working. But if i play using keyboard or game pad as my controller it does work, very annoying as i cant exit out of the game without having to finish a race!

Escape works during the menus though when using wheel
 
try using xpadder. it assigns keyboard shortcuts to your controller movements. you configure the game to use a keyboard while xpadder converts your actions into key presses. works well with my 360 controller. obviously the game supports my controller natively but i didn't like the fact i couldn't alter the config at all.

according to the homepage it works with wheels too.

I always use AA and sometimes do get this thin line around (using 4870) and have also noticed when I bring up the current race leader info (who is where) and then cancel it, I can still see some of the pixels right in the far corner that haven't changed back, I'll post a screenie ina min!!

hi, thanks for the reply. Yeah the same with me, it's never really bothered me after all it usually just appears on the menus, but in the new FO it was appearing during the game play which is a bit annoying.

Strange thing is when i take a screen shot it doesn't appear. It only appears on the screen itself.
 
I got this the other day, installed it and had a quick thrash seems be very much like the one before, which i loved

but GRID is more important at moment so this will have to wait a while
 
It'll be your ATI drivers what is the problem i bet. Lots of people are having problems with the drivers we certain games from what ive been reading on here lately
 
this game is pathetic i cant believe they are selling this as a new game and not giving it away because if this is what they can do with the game now why couldnt they have done it in the first place :(

the graphics are awesome the gameplay its miles better but overall its the same as flatout 2

i think its a rip off that companies are allowed ( and still do it ) to remake a game and sell it again

it should have been added as a patch and not a full game .........

im well peeved that its gone to LIVE aswell if we wanted to play against xboxers i would have bought an xbox :mad:
 
Well it was originally just meant to be the 360 version of Flatout 2, couple of improvements included. No idea why they put it on PC though, its been ages since the 360 launch, I'd assumed they were working on Flatout 3 :(
 
anyone know where the saves are kept for this when using XP? cant mind mine anyway and i need to reformat, would rather avoid playing through flatout mode to get all my unlocks again if possible!
