Floating idea - Lan Party - November - In Private Hotel - Wales

Well, i'm home and have been for a few minutes. Left at half 3, and blazed it. I doubled my petrol consumption, halved my mpg and killed 1 rabbit :( . It was a good run though, glad i left to drive back overnight, than face all that traffic on the M4, etc. Those back roads to the M4 are damn fun, especially when empty! :D

A massive thanks goes out to UE for hosting and organizing a magnificent event. You're parents made us feel very welcome and you all looked after us very well! It was my first LAN and i had never met any of you, but i was made to feel most welcome. Had some good races on PGR4, Halo 3 on the rocket bikes was just hilarious, people and quads flying everywhere! The sumo wrestling one was just mad too. Thoroughly enjoyed the CoD4 on the LAN too, with the moose near enough dominating every match with that ****** knife! GRRRRR!!!!! It really was a fantastic event, and a good buzz all around.

Did start writing something about everyone but my mind has gone and some names i have lost.....

Will post tomorrow, safe journey back for you all traveling back tomorrow.
 
Just got back.

Absolutely fantastic time, enjoyed every second of it. Really good to put faces to names and was double the fun to actually see the expression on peoples faces as they are taken down, shot in the head or rocketed to death. Brilliant fun.

Gonna post up a few piccies soon, didn't take that many as was too enjoying the fun.

But have to say an absolute MASSIVE thanks to Ultra Extreme/Az.

Let me say to everyone here that Az has been the perfect host. Not only did he cook everyones breakfast on the Saturday morning (several full english breakfasts I might add), as well as take orders at the bar, help with equipment loaning and ensuring the network was optimal, but he did this nearly everyday and was up till about 5am each morning. And his mum and dad have looked after EVERYONE, catering for every need (throughout every second of the day), as well as the staff at the hotel (young Matt). Gotta say the hospitality was 5*. PLUS of course a massive thanks to Az for driving Justin, his mrs, Zico and myself to Carmarthenshire train station this morning and asking for next to nothing for the petrol.

Mate, it's been an absolute pleasure, perfect host.

But thanks aside, weekend has been brilliant. And Kreeeeeeee doesn't walk about looking like \0/ all the time ;)

Can't wait for the next one, I'm booked already.
 
Im gonna issue some dates soon-ish and start the voting on the best ones. Next time we will be veterans and we can include more of the stuff that we couldnt this time.

Thanks to everybody who came and made it a success, It's a long way for most of you guys to come and the organisation was made so much easier by the efforts of everyone to pitch in and help out (especially as i had to keep disappearing on various errands!).

Would love to see you all back here again, and also at other lans.

Expect a new LAN thread in a month or so pitching some dates for the new year.

Weekend Highlights:

FAR too many to list, every minute was full of fun, laughs, shouts, screams, ****'s and ********'s galore.
Ultra Extreme's sister (a 13 yr old) soaring through Guitar Hero II on expert with a controller!! :eek:
Fantastic company from everyone with not a single bad word said towards anyone.
UE's friends (Dan and gang) mullered out of their heads and trying to sing to Freebird.
Incredible and hillarious COD4 tournaments.
Brilliant PGR4 races galore!
LOUD sounds throughout.
Several loud and brilliant Guitar Hero II jamming sessions till 2am.
The BEST ½lb burgers tasted for years!
Meeting a perfectly normal and really nice Kreeeeeeeeeeeee :eek:
Great beer!!

Final and MASSIVE personal thanks to:

Psymonkee for the loan of his Xbox360 Elite, without that I'd have had a VERY boring weekend. Mate, I owe you BIG time for that!!

Zico for putting my room on his CC (don't forget your bank details), again, without which would have meant me running around the Welsh countryside for a ATM. Again, I owe you one huge favour!!
 
Just got home! EVERYTHING about that weekend was awesome UE. Also cheers for letting me use the big screen :D although if krono comes again next time with the projector, we'll need to plan a place to put it.

I have to agree with everything that Matt and ~J~ have said. Definately coming to the next one.

Also, damn this LAN has made me want to spend more money on COD4, guitar hero and a vga cable (I just can't live without HD anymore now that I've seen it properly :D).

Again cheers to all of you, it was great meeting you all, especially ~J~ and zico (zico is gonna be on the train till about 5/6pm so he won't see this till then lol) who I travelled with.

great summery ~J~ nice to see some pictures up.

Some Highlights that really stick in my head:

~ Guitar hero on Saturday evening a few groups playing it and the volume creeping up out doing other groups lol me and claire were almost playing without sound and strumming to everyones else's beats

~ The halo3 rocket races everyone just randomly shouting creating a rumble of fun around the room as you tryed to shout to your partner (and of course me and Mcdaniel beating krono and kreeeee:D)

~ The hospitality was excellent through out !!

~ The Top Gear break yesterday

~ Nokkon wearing pink (that just sticks in my head)

This was my first Lan! Everyone made me feel really welcome in the group and as i said in a previous post cant wait for the next one :D
