What is fly tipping?

Fly tipping is the illegal dumping of any waste on to land or a highway that has no license to accept it.

My house counts as land and I didn't sign up to accept it

Fly tipping affects the appeal of an area and causes damage to the environment.

Well it doesn't do that, but prevents my Mail Man putting letters in.

Fly tipping varies in scale from a bin bag of rubbish to large quantities of waste.

Pamphlets, leaflets are waste

If you see someone fly tipping or carrying out any other anti social activity do not place yourself in danger. Instead report it to the council.

The amount of spam we get through our door is ridiculous. Affluent area slap bang in the middle of the "centre" so we pretty much get targeted by everyone. Worst is because the front door is for 4 flats we get 4 of everything.

Probably open up the door every day (I'm always the first back) to at least 20 flyers. All of them go straight in the recycling bins next to the door, such a waste.

Or you could put them all in a big bucket of water to soak for a week and make yourself free log fire bricks with the resulting mash, add a dash of detergent to speed up the glossier flyers and Bobs your Mothers Brother.

Can those people who are posting "it's not big deal, just put it in the bin" please trust me their address? I had an extra bin bag left over after this weeks collection, so I'll just leave it on your lawn. You can just put it in the bin.

sure you can leave it on my drive if you want, im in Hornchurch in Essex. Rubbish collection here is on a Wednesday morning.
