*** FM17 thread ***

I'm an anomaly in my family.

So after reading this thread and how excitable people were I took the plunge as I've been away from the series for a few years(2013)

I'm disgusted that they call the editor DLC and charge for it, awful practice.

I agree, but as long as I can remember that has been the case with the editor. What do you think about the game as a whole? Worst aspect for me is the regen graphics. It's not only their poor implementation but on my laptop the graphics change and they lose their clarity. It's very poor, but SI refuse to admit there's a problem.

I'm still not a fan of FM on the basis of two seasons play, the way a player demands 30-50% more from your club but will happily accept less when he joins another club, getting paltry offers for my players yet having to offer insane amounts to get just above average guys, it does seem as though everything is designed to be a mini game and against you, saying that though it is quite easy

Also far too much faffing about for me it isn't football manager but baby sitting simulator, squad players always unhappy and the amount of players that demand new deals is ridiculous.

Just my opinion so far so no need for anyone to take offence.

The ingame editor is very good though - worth the money.

Ref the problems you are having Giburrows you're not wrong, but you may find your reputation comes into play. In the editor you can actually improve your reputation which in turn reflects better on players and clubs.

Giburrows, I can definately relate to the thing about prices for buying/selling players. Clubs don't even want to pay the value for my players but demand £25 million for a 17 yo with a value of £150k etc. Same with the wages. Or the players who complain they don't get picked in the PL/CL squads when they don't need to be picked due to their age or the fact they are 19 and still down in the U21 squad..

A lot of the player complaints are based on what you promise them when you sign them, but I understand it can be annoying.

Paying stupid money for 17 year olds has been in the game for a long time though, in my save Newcastle have an amazing potential defender who is 17 and they want £84million for him!

For a "simulator" it isn't very realistic anymore, they don't even have the actual club crests!

I am somewhat miffed about why there isn't a competitor, I once asked Miles Jacobson on Twitter if they bought the rights with a clause not allowing anyone else to use them and he replied back with a snarky comment which didn't answer my question and I just received abuse from his fanboys but, I remember in the 90's there were loads of footy manager games.

Sar, when I sign youngsters I always sign them as hot prospect or youngster and keep that status on them until they are good enough to get into the main squad, which will usually include several loans to other clubs to get them to play. But you would expect the game to notice that U21 players (or is it U20?) in the PL don't need to be registered in the PL squad if they spent a certain time with the club. And if a player falls in this category I don't see why a player should complain about not being included as he can still play in PL. Same with the CL

Because now they are lazy and filling it with bloated unimaginative stuff.

I think it was premier manager 97 that was amazing, it was a shame that did not become bigger.

I understand that some of them are just big headed and want to play. I play the game in the same way so I know how stupid it can be sometimes.
