Boots essentials hair conditioner - big bottle for 32p :D Can't remermber where I saw conditioner recommended but it works as well as any of the various foams/gels/soaps&brushes I have tried and is much cheaper.

Shaving foams and gels or any goo in a can for that matter is pure crap. It dries out your skin and provides no protection from the blade.

No. Clinique M-shave gel, particularly if applied after a few drops of a high quality oil, will help the razor glide across the skin. Good for the skin and good for the blade (in terms of maintaining sharpness and cleanliness).

A real man should be able to blunt a razor blade just by looking at it.

king of shaves oil, then top up with king of shaves gel (black or orange one), then use 5blade vibtrating gilette

they're doing it wrong.

you're supposed to wet the brush, then swirl it on the block of cream (it should be in a tub or tin of some sort) untill it has nicely saturated the brush (a thick lather). then apply to face and shave.
It's this. So i should get a dish and work it into a lather first? Meh.

Fixed.

Apart from the chice of razor, this is also what I do - KoS Oil followed by KoS Gel (the light green one).

Either that KOS oil with gel above it.

And I thought I was the only one.

Crazy.

King of Shaves Gel is what I've been using for years now, I had to use some foam over Christmas and I had awful rash afterwards, it doesn't feel as nice when shaving as gel.
