This thread has reminded me, while I was driving on Friday night in thick fog; I came across possibly the most annoying misuse of lights ever.
I was approaching a junction on my right and someone who was turning left, on to the opposite side of the road, pulled out slightly too close to a lorry, this obviously annoyed the lorry driver no end and they decided the best course of retaliation would be a blast of their main beams. With it being foggy the lorry’s main beams light up the entire road, and for a good 20 seconds, until I passed the lorry, the only thing I could see in front of my car was blinding white light reflected off of the fog.
Not content with blinding me and the driver following me, I noticed in my rear view mirror that the lorry driver begin to flash their main beams on and off, presumably to teach the guy who pulled out in front of him a lesson.
I can’t wait until we all drive at night using night vision goggles or some other sci-fi technology, because some people just can’t be trusted to use their lights properly.
