Yes, I just saw your stats - nice ppd on the 7970 :)

Plus, BaBa has three 4P rigs up'n'runnin - gonna push me for top spot me thinks

Not to mention the four CPU's you have lurking in the background just waiting for a platform to run on :D

Making for some interesting times ahead

Top PPD spot you mean :) Still got a ways to go to catch me :p

So pretty close between the Titan and 7970. I just put the 7970@stock and there is only 2K between em. But of course £600+ in cost! So for folding with current drivers and WU the Titan just aint worth it.

As you can see I'm not running the Titan after this test WU and the 7970 will be going back to earning its keep mining after a couple more WU's so don't worry about me.

The 4p is waiting for the big parts and even then I'm probably going to sell off one of the other rigs.

you should all run gpus so next week we get a double overtake on next weeks news :D:D:D

my 560 runs around 10c cooler and 2-3k ppd more with the beta flag on now!, ill add it to my 460 as well even if i dont get any more ppd, as long as it runs cooler!

Please note that Linux 64-bit OS can now get Project 7663 with the client-type set to beta. Enjoy GPU folding natively on Linux :D

First post have been updated to reflect that.

 looks like loudbob will be loading up his 4P xeon with 4 7970's!

Well at 120K PPD the 7970 and 7950 I guess are going to be top of the price/perf bracket for Folding with these new WU's

Haha just read your post in your MM thread...

Morning Jez :)

All packed ready to go, actually i think I should ..... no I cant must resist :D

LOL :D

I think tbh mate you gave up too soon on the AMD's its not like you are a luddite, you coulda got the hang of it. I crack on with both AMD and NVidia for testing, gaming, crunching and they are all much of a muchness to me.

Never understood the whole fanboy sentiment myself.

My quandry is more to do with being caught between what project to run, and now AMD becoming competitive performance wise in Folding, and add mining to the mix.. well hell its a nightmare!

Change is good it keeps me rattling along, my first love is seti though and I have negelected the mistress for too long now. Am just shopping aboot for what will suit her best :)

If I have spare pennies at the end of the week I will take another look at this amd development its definitely interesting though :)

Not going to be able to keep this pace up for long I'm getting complaints about the noise coming from the garage:(

2U rigs are LOUD in this weather(or any other).

One amd rig and the intel have 9cm heatsink/fans and even in hot weather are quiet.

I have two amd rigs in 2U server cases with high speed case fans and passive heatsinks, they sound like a jet aircraft at takeoff power in hot conditions!
