AAAARRRGGGGGGGHHHHHH!!!!!!!!!

HDD failure on my folding rig

Now rebuilding, but a new MB should be here early next week and so I know I'll be doing it again....

R.I.P. HDD, although this unfortunate event does open an opportunity for me to catch up :D Fold on!

Shouldn't have gloated, I can't get the GPU's working at more than 28% each.
That'll learn me!

I'm so stupid, I installed an early Windows 7 beta!

Doh! I was about to ask if it was a Driver/OS/DirectX issue or not. Hope you get it sorted, but I will keep the pressure on this weekend, so you have some incentive to put just a little bit of that extra effort in :D ;)

Well it's been a good week for me! :)

The garage cruncher has passed its first week of testing and will be installed in its new home today. My output has skyrocketed me into 6th position for ppd, i think that's why you're now in 9th Sirius! :D

Have ati sorted f@h yet ? With over 1000 stream processors in the 6800 series you would think they would literally fly ?

Ati doesn't write the application, plus Stanford is a CUDA stronghold in more ways than F@H

I see what you did thar :O It will happen, but for now you have to stick to kit that works better. I'm giving my ATI beasties of old a good rest until they are pressed back into service :D No point in them wasting electricity until Stanford get their act together.

Just had another EUE Pause on my GTX295 after 17 failed WUs in about 3-4 days. Clocked it back but I think one of the cores is faulty! Wonder what EVGA will send me.... I'd hope for a 480 but knowing my luck another 295.... lol

Thanks for the input guys. What is special about the MSI Cyclone?

EDIT: NVM! It was the 768MB Cyclone I was looking to get anyway! :D

Question:

Trying to get F@H up and running for a bit.......

But I can't seem to get the CPU & GPU clients to run together.

When using just GPU's it uses all three cards @ 99% but when I start the CPU client the GPU's fall off dramatically.

Using a Q6600 and set it to use -smp 2 (only two cores - I think) but GPU's are still trailing off.

Am I missing something?

Using 6.30 CPU client ang 6.32 GPU client.

What GPU's are you running?

GPU3 units that run on GTX400's rape the CPU. You may get better PPD overall if you just ran the GPU client, as I can't imagine you would get much PPD with only 2 Q6600 cores.
