Folding@Home Weekly Team News - 16th November 2006

We are in a syndicate. Some online thingy.. basically get 88 entries in both draws for a fiver or something. Give it a little while and see what comes of it. Don't plan to use it for long tho. Just trying it out :D ya never know.

tbh, my sis in laws school had a lottery syndicate, they changed last year to putting the money into NS&I rather than the lottery.
their doing very well atm!

yeah, but if you work it out, there are loads of them, and they would put in about £2/week or whatever, thats £104 a year (or so) each, thats 104 bonds per person
and at the end THEY STILL HAVE THAT MUCH!

Production has been going up and up for me with my MacBook Pro folding - these SMP clients are NICE!

Does anyone have any idea when the gfx client that you don't have to run as a program on the desktop is coming out (or is there one already, and it's me being slow?)? I've been waiting for that to get my X1900XT going.

thats 600 bonds in 12 months.
any money you win goes back in
at the end of the year you could have loads
and at the very least you've STILL got £600!
 
Battered & bruised

Hello fellow folders - decided to turn off -advmethods as no 1405's & my average ppd is slipping badly. Just got a 600 pointer pro 2414 :)

I've been stomped 3 times & another 2 coming up with JoeyJoJo appearing over the horizon & Lord Shadow only just out of sight!
But I have learned today how to put my stats in sig ;) so there is life in the old dog yet.

Thinking about getting an Opeteron 165 to drop into my brother old mobo which has a faulty RAM slot but should work OK in single channel mode. Any hints or suggestions welcomed.
 
Aye, but you've still got an estimated 60 days until I catch you :)

Production is poor, as the machines no longer fold for the sake of folding. They are turned "not on" when not in use. Has improved my sleep, but, well, sorry team as that's a good few hundred ppd less :( :) (mixed emotions :p )

Do it if you can get one cheap, otherwise I'd probably wait for better prices or an upgrade.
 
FINALLY! i have my first 600 pointer for about the last 3 weeks (well apart from one that finished early last week)
is this a sign of things to come? i've given up setting half the CPU's to advanced methods, doesnt seem to be working in my favour
 
And 396s. I've had nothing else in the last 2 weeks except for a couple of 153s.
They take over 3 days.
 
Ah yes the 396s are a bitch too. Ah well they're all dumping now, today's production is no doubt going to look artificially high as a result. I just hope I get some decent ones - I almost miss the 99 pointers now :p

11.19.06 - 0 - 0
11.18.06 - 549 - 2 = 396 + 153
11.17.06 - 545 - 2 = 392 + 153
11.16.06 - 396 - 1 = 396
11.15.06 - 153 - 1 = 153
 
I stepped down last night. :) No conspiracy theory or hidden agendas I just needed a bit of a break from it all. Nothing wrong with your eyes. ;)

I still have contacts so don't push your luck :p
