Folding@Home Weekly Team News - 19th October 2006

Well ive just returned from a business trip to find my home computer crashed the day I left last Wednesday and the laptop that I had with me finished a 600 pointer while I was away but as I didnt have an internet connection it deleted it after several failed attempts to connect. Bummer.

Arghh, the work server has crashed again. All those borgs that aren't going to be doing much over the weekend :( ON the other hand there could be a bit of dumpage on Monday

Ooh, I knew today could be good, but so far it's excellent! 3,000 points since 9:00am mwahahahaha

Going from 2.2GHz to 2.3GHz has seen my PPD on a 600 pointer rise from 250 to 263 (only a little bit, but it all counts)

Going to be going for 2.4GHz in small increments to keep an eye on stabilty and maybe puch past that depending how the RAM copes.

16 hours or so before I dump this 600 pointer :D

I finally Reached the Big 10,000 :D

I got quite a good dump this week, 3rd in the Single cores
Its Probably because i wasnt home this week so the computer could do folding and folding alone.
Im suprised how much just browsing the internet was tarnishing my output :o

I'm inclined to think it is something else that gave you the increase in dumpage. Perhaps some nice 600 pointers or one of the 364WUs... either that or you spend your time browsing hi-res, interactive porno sites :p.

well football manager 2k7 is out now and ive been playing it non-stop at work and home for the last few days, so my folding is taking a dive, hopefully i will have got bored of it in a week or so though

 :(

What are you running? :p

4400+ @ 2.6GHz [one core]
X1900XT @ 3D clocks [though often ATI Tray Tools reverts back to 2D for some reason]
3700+ @ stock
1.6GHz Celeron - part time only.

4 x P4 machines, anywhere between 2 and 2.6GHz lol

Upgrading to an E6600 by Christmas, to replace the 4400+. The 4400+ may find its way into my file server or may replace the 3700+.

One of the P4 owners is getting his E6400 machine in a few weeks, so will see a boost there :D [his current PC is being given to his dad, so it may carry on crunching]
