Folding@Home Weekly Team News - 25th January 2007

Sucks, Stan. We've just got a Home Hub and it seems to run independently of the software. The only thing I have installed is the Hub Manager thing, but the hub doesn't care whether that computer is on/connected or not.

As A.N.Other said, you can access it under bthomehub.home (or api.home works too if you're lazy :)) The manager software seems to be just a front-end for that.

Odd.

Must be this PC then. It used to do the same with my old router - sometimes the network would go down and the only way to get it up and running would be to reboot this machine. It's well overdue a reboot anyway - pity I've just installed VMware, Ubuntu and SMP on it. NM, I've plenty of time on my hands over the next few weeks.

Stan :)

Good to have you back stan - nice tiffy too got one of my own but it's a bit tatty in comparison.

Got myself stomped on this weekend (what no parp!) and MGP about to let the secretary's lose on me too all due to having to much fun at week end*, and not seting up me rig correctly  so my PPD is plumiting and not off is the general state of play.

*spent all morning making sushi for my sisters-in-laws 18th cosplay party, and all night dancing, great fun but got a bit dehydrated. Sunday didn't real happen :o - image isn't of me btw, just my costumes inspration ;)

No luck here yet. I'm connecting ok but still getting "Work Unit has an invalid address".

Same here :(

I installed on two rigs this afternoon but no work yet. Hope it's not going to be too long as I only installed Ubuntu (didn't see the point in dual boot as both rigs are dedicated folders).

Stan :)

I would expect it to be back on tonight - they are 8 hours behind if I remember correctly so they will want to have it sorted by the end of their work day I would imagine (so by around midnight UK time?)

edit: according to the server page and viewing the IP in a browser it should be working - have you tried restarting the client to see if it finds another way through?

Yip several times.

But it'll be all fine in a while.

My virtual machine I set up yesterday just handed a WU in and managed to get a new one after 6 failed attempts. Still no luck on the two new ones yet but I'm hopeful something will turn up soon.

No idea - but according to cosplay.com theirs loads of london members. My sister in law is just really into Manga at the moment so she thought it would be a good idea - and it was :D

Cheesy fun for all, even some of the 'oldies' joined in (do I inclue myself in that statment  ) most amusing.
