Folding@Home Weekly Team News - 2nd November 2006

The production drop is probably the rubbish WUs that are going around. Not seen a 600 pointer for about a week now. Best I am managing are those god awful 2124s. Basically my PPD from my 4400+ has halved :(

Might have to get that conroe sooner than I think :p

been testing new e6600, stuck F@H on it and got two of these, man they suck :( think my athlon at home may munch through these faster, then again i cant OC this like that

i'd OC it if i could but the dell cooling solution isnt great, its near total silence, tbh i keep thinking its turned itself off :p but at stock 2.4ghz its already running 55degrees @ 100% load

This is my E6600 compared to my best A64. Even though the Sandy is no slouch, it's still 38 ppd behind the E6600.

The OC on the E6600 is fairly commonly reached whilst the OC on the Sandy is quite exceptional on air. So, unless you have a very poor E6600 or an extremely exceptional A64, your C2D should still beat the pants off the A64 :)

that just makes me want to OC this e6300 now, maybe if i sneak into work really early tomorrow i can install a better H/S when no-ones around, i think im going to get a good couple of weeks free folding on it before it goes into official use now, unsure about the dell BIOS though and the motherboard, i havent even looked at the BIOS yet, cpu-z doesnt work properly with it nor clockgen so i cant clock it direct from windows
my xp4000 runs at 2.85ghz, it will go further but its been resigned to a shuttle that stops it from going any further, im probably just thinking it goes faster, in my head everything goes faster
